I don’t feel the need to pile-on, and there are certainly better-expressed opinions than mine about Obama’s embarrassment in Copenhagen this week (most notably at NRO’s The Corner).

AND, after reading his remarks to the IOC, I was prepared to give the president what I thought was well-deserved credit for having (for the first time in his term representing all of us as our head of state) traveled to a foreign country and not bashing us.

Unfortunately, there’s this, the president’s response to a question of, of all innocuous topics, crowd control that he had to jump in and turn into yet another opportunity to admit how horrible America is (or at least used to be before we were all so wise as to choose him to save us from ourselves):

MR. RYAN: The next question relates to — comes from Mr. Ali, and thank you for the question. How do we intend to deal with all of the millions of people who will enter?

THE PRESIDENT: I think that over the last several years sometimes that fundamental truth [our diversity as a nation] about the United States has been lost. And one of the legacies, I think, of this Olympics Games in Chicago would be a restoration of that understanding of what the United States is all about, and the United States’ recognition of how we are linked to the world.

Last year, America elected a president with an obvious and personal dislike for the nation itself. When you think about it, why would the IOC bestow upon such a country the honor of hosting the enitre world?

And so now the list grows yet again, and Obama’s up to a full dozen:

Canada
Great Britain
France
Saudi Arabia
Mexico
Trinidad and Tobago
Egypt
Germany
Turkey
Russia
Ghana
Denmark

  1. The poor man just can’t help himself.

Despite the fact that he was elected president counts for nothing at all. (What does the his election say about us?)

He reminds me of the old saw about that guy who wouldn’t belong to any club that would have him as a member.

  2. I don’t see how this country can survive another 3+ years of Obama. The sheer incompetence of this man if breathtaking. How did we ever let this pathetic self centered little momma’s boy be elected? And that wife of his, fashion icon???? Pleassseeee. Patrick Ewing in drag.

  3. John, I love your fashion comment, me, I won’t be available until I’m done reconfiguring the paisley sofa into a dress.

  4. He has not managed to “ping” off KRUDD from Australia. I guess it is a case of birds of a feather. Both are narcissists.

  6. Obama is the climber who steps on the doorman’s foot and then announces that it should not have been in the way and demands an apology.

He uses his Presidential perks like toys and always sees himself as coming out on top. He and Michelle selflessly gave of their precious energy and abundant talent to show the IOC the right decision. They played their “A” game, but the IOC is so entrenched in the residual anti-Americanism left over from the Bush years, that even The Won could not breach the wall of resentment. Blah, blah, blah, and much more in the Teleprompter-in-Chief’s awesome and singular mind. Meanwhile, brother George-in-the-Hut in Kenya will have to continue to scrape by. It is part of The Won’s character building program for people who can not do him anything for him.

Michelle is probably getting tired of mentoring The Won on stepping on foreheads and demanding more and better of the people who flutter near their self-generated eternal flame.

  7. The Obamas bash the country they live in and always talk about themselves. I thought it would die down over a couple of months, but it has gotten worse. Can you imagine having friends like this? Always talking about themselves?! They really have such little concern for others and their worth. Their IOC presentation was an embarrassment. These are the people who are supposed to make us look better to the rest of the world? Have they no modesty at all? Wouldn’t any normal person be embarrassed to have children singing a song praising them? These are people that are not “quite right.” And this is why more and more people are starting to realize it.

  8. Rush just made a good point:

Obama’s been traveling all over the world, telling every audience on four continents how much America sucks and how right they are to hate it… and now he’s surprised that no-one wants to come here?

  9. I’d just point out that the only reason the map isn’t more colored in with countries Obama has bashed the US in, is only because he hasnt BEEN to more countries in which to bash us.
