The Blogger Formerly Known As Conservative

I didn’t want to minimize Dan or John’s individual postings, so I figured I’d sandwich myself in between. (ahem)

Anyway, last Friday — at long last — I heard the words “liberal blogger” used to describe Andrew Sullivan by Bret Baier on FNC’s “Special Report”.  It was personally gratifying since Andrew has not been a conservative blogger since he went off the deep end over the marriage issue.

So, I am proud to declare that GayPatriot is the preeminent gay conservative voice in the blogosphere.

Woot!

  3. We’ve been aware of this truth for a while. The fact that Fox news declared him as a liberal doesn’t mean that he will ever accept that label.

  4. Dan, when was he ever really a conservative, except by the RINO standard of the NE? I don’t remember him ever being that any more than being honestly catholic.

  6. Sullivan has indeed gone off the deep end. His blind support for Obama is as misguided as his early support for Bush. Like so many, Sullivan is taken with the idea of a president from ‘our generation’ whose ‘cool’ and, oh yeah, he’s half-black! Yipee!

It’s one thing to be glad that Bush is gone, glad the GOP was punished, and to know that there was no real alternative in the election. To believe that Obama is anything but an empty suit is delusional. What part of Obama’s agenda could possibly be acceptable to a conservative? None of it!

Sullivan’s foolish embrace of the global warming sham is most telling of all. He fancies himself the analytical type, but if he has seriously reviewed the evidence and buys it, his understanding of science is sorely lacking. The way he dismisses contrary views in this very unsettled area of science reveals him to be a lightweight. Stick to politics Andrew!

OTOH, his take on marriage is not very different from Ron Paul, a conservative if there ever was one. Let the states decide who gets a license. In fact, Paul doesn’t think the government should issue licenses to anyone, gay or straight. Remember, it’s Obama the Harvard liberal who is against gay marriage.

In the end, his blog is just not interesting anymore. I read plenty of commentary from conservatives. Some I agree with, some not, but if it’s thoughtful and analytical it’s worth a read. Sullivan has become a mushy, gooey, emotional blog that’s utterly incoherent. Boring!

  7. Sully reminds me of Kmiec. Both desperately WANT to like Obama. But when they evaluate his policies, they’ve got nothing.
