Lefties are so predictable. I recall a lot of the anti Americanism during the Bush years being called "speaking truth to power". Now we're all suppose to be silent trolls, who just roll over because of the Obama power to stun and mute. The Nobel Prize is just another funny example of leftist blather that requires no real accomplishments just talk and feel goodedniss.

This blog has a fair number of lefty readers, so I'd address this to you folks: can you recall a single instance of the previous administration calling out (or freezing out) a news source?

This isn't snark BTW. They might have and I just didn't catch it. But, Bush sent a representative to the Jacobins at "Democracy Now!" for Pete's sake!

Dimly, I recall a letter to CBS by Rove after they first aired the 2004 National Guard story. The one that got Rather fired. Five minutes of fruitless Googling turned up nothing. As I recall, it was a sternly worded attempt to shame them into doing their jobs properly. It goes without saying that Rove was proven correct.

(Partisan aside, I was furious that CBS wasn't "cut off" at the time. But, Rove's letter was the end and, in retrospect, that was the correct decision.)

So, Obama supporters: is this move as unprecedented as it appears?

Best wishes,
-MFS

The dictionary definition:
fas·cism noun

dictatorial movement: any movement, ideology, or attitude that favors dictatorial government, centralized control of private enterprise, repression of all opposition, and extreme nationalism

So lets break that down,

Does Obama favor dictatorial government? Well, he wants to tell us what light bulbs we can buy, how much we can make, what cars we can drive, what our health insurance must cover, how we can get it, and on and on....

Does he favor centralized control of private enterprise? Well, in just 9 months he has nationalized the banking industry, the finance industry, the student loan industry, the auto industry, and is currently trying to nationalize the healthcare industry, and has his sights on the energy industry and AM radio next!

Does he try to repress opposition? Lets see, as a candidate he threatened to SUE PACs that criticized him, threatened to sue people who gave money to those PACs that criticized him, threatened to sue radio and TV stations that played ads critical of him and formed a "Truth (goon) squad" just to intimidate those who would criticize him.... Now that he is president, once it became clear that Americans were deeply opposed to the Orwellian-named "fairness" doctrine, he dumped that idea and began work on "local control" laws which is just another means to the same fascist end.

and finally, extreme nationalism.

Well, Obama definitely isn't a nationalist. He loathes America and everything it stands for.

But nationalism isnt central to Fascism, it is only the rallying cry. If you replace "extreme nationalism" with "extreme environmentalism" then you have Obama pegged.

Which all makes sense when you look back at history and see how much the American left admired and appreciated Hitler and Mussolini at first.

And it makes even more sense when you consider the driving force behind the left.... that they want government to take care of them. They have no problem with dictators, they just want BENEVOLENT dictators.
