Peggy Noonan says the president owns the “mess” (he claims he “inherited”) and should stop whining, roll up his sleeves and get to work:

Hear Hear!!!! Problem is, much of the work he wants to get done, and has gotten done so far, is not necessarily the right policies for the health of this nation.

Actually, Ed Morrissey does, and the White House press pool. First, as Fox reports:

The Obama administration on Thursday failed in its attempt to manipulate other news networks into isolating and excluding Fox News, as Republicans on Capitol Hill stepped up their criticism of the hardball tactics employed by the White House.

The Obama administration on Thursday tried to make “pay czar” Kenneth Feinberg available for interviews to every member of the White House pool except Fox News…

But the Washington bureau chiefs of the five TV networks consulted and decided that none of their reporters would interview Feinberg unless Fox News was included.

The administration relented…

Ed’s interpretation, which I think is good:

We certainly give these broadcast networks plenty of criticism. Let’s take a moment to recognize their integrity…

Meanwhile, how bad is this for the White House? They now have all of the broadcast networks on record defending [Fox] as a news organization.

might this possibly mean that this administration has a different goal in mind? Something they aren’t communicating AT ALL?

I can’t see any evidence that he gives a rat’s ass about America. I sure don’t see him wanting prosperity and success. That’s what we’re supposed to be apologetic for. We’re supposed to be equally miserable and no better than the countries that drink the water they piss in.

While I despise the man’s politics, I’m starting to genuinely get alarmed at how over-his-head he increasingly appears. And his underqualified ‘advisers’ are doing the beheaded-chicken dance all over the MSM putting out fires and justifying and re-interpreting what eachother’s said….while nothing really gets done and the economy stalls despite massive amounts of Federally-borrowed monies pour down rat-holes.

It’s one thing to casually refer to the President as “…our idiot leader”, it’s quite another to worry that our ‘leader’ is actually an idiot.

keep up hope. when the AWB was passed in 1994 many of us thought it was the end of gun rights as we knew them. now things are a bit better, and may potentially get much better if the scotus does us right again.

Loved Peggys piece. Obama asked for this now it’s too hard?
He had all the answers. Problem is he and his leftists advisors picked the wrong priorities. How much energy is spent in this White House skeemming against Fox News, talk radio and the Chamber of Commerce? Obama picked doing pork bills, revamping healthcare that 86% of Americans were fine with, trying to get Chicago the debt ridden Olympics, and traveling around the world apologizing for America. He chose his initiatives. Americans with 10-18% unemployment underemployment, had different ideas of what a true leader would be spending his time on.
Obama picked the boobs that now advise him. He can live with the record breaking falling poll numbers. Trouble is can most Americans survive this liberal leftist experiment another 3 years.

Obama totally owns it!
- In the 2008 campaign, he endorsed the Afghanistan war and promised to fight it more vigorously.
- In 2009, he’s had the chance to withdraw from Iraq, close Gitmo, end the Patriot Act, etc. And he’s done none of those things. In other words: He own them now.
- At the height of the financial crisis in the 2008 campaign, Obama promised a net reduction in federal spending. But now we see he’s jacked up spending massively, artificially redistributing wealth from Main Street to Wall Street (with the bailouts) and boosting the deficit to an unprecedented $1.4 trillion/year. He totally owns the bailouts now, and the deficits.

What’s most odd and self-destructive in his behavior are his twin obsessions with health care and Fox News. People are losing jobs. To have a real recovery, we desperately need government to be CUT. Obama should be working on that. Obama should be working on Afghanistan. Instead, he fiddles with Fox and/or with a “public option” while Rome burns.

Actually, for a guy who not only ran into the kitchen that was already on fire, he also insisted on renovating it while it was in flames and at the same time trying to cook for a dinner party of 300,000,000 guests who can’t agree on anything, and also simultaneously go out to the pool for a swim, well, yeah, he’s got to cool the “inherited” puppy dog poo ain’t my fault nonsense. Pres. Obama should not be complaining about ‘inheriting the mess’…he went to a great deal of time, effort and trouble to become POTUS. It’s not like it just got dropped in his lap uninvited. He volunteered for it, for-gods-sake….what a tool.

Time to suck-up and govern, dammit….
