@Throbert – Yep. Thanks for clarifying.

I think the adoption issue is important, having worked in family law. Co-parents need equal co-parental rights, regardless of sex or marital status. It’s what’s best for the kids.

As an adoptive mom, it’s something I feel strongly about.

In any event, it looks like it’s passing! We’re mail-in, so there will be more to count as the last-minute ballots come in, but…

Approve means to keep the domestic partnership legislation passed by the state.
Reject means to overturn it.

More specifically, “Approve” means to keep the recent expansion to an older domestic-partnership law, while “Reject” rejects the expansion only, but doesn’t nullify earlier domestic-partnership legislation.

(Issues such as inheritance-without-a-will and medical-power-of-attorney were covered by the older DP law, and thus are not in jeopardy in the current election. The “upgraded” DP law added language relating to pensions, worker’s comp, adoption, and child custody.)

I don’t think anyone expected it to be close… A well-known local personality was laying odds 10-1 against it not being approved.

The APPROVE movement far out-raised and out-canvassed the REJECT movement.

Last number I saw from NJ with 44% counted, Christie up by 5 points, and that is not within the margin of fraud. Look for a stolen election in NJ. Waiting for the polls to close in CA-10, Harmer’s internals have him dead even with Garamendi, I still think we could see a very important upset here.

I’m in Washington State. We’re waiting for results to start being posted at 8:00PM, our time.

On our ballot was Referendum 71, known by some as the “everything but marriage” decision.

It will be interesting to see how that shakes out. I’ve posted points from both sides of the issue on my blog.
