Arnold Schwarzeneggar, Olympia Snow, Susan Collins, and Arlen Specter all claimed to be moderate Republicans; socially liberal but fiscally conservative. Arnold has allowed massive budget growth and tax increases, and supported a socialized state health care plan. Snowe, Collins, and Specter voter yes on $787 Billion in wasted “Stimulus” spending. Specter switched parties. Snowe voted “Yes” on ObamaCare.

Moderate Republicans simply cannot be trusted.

She is being backed by the Republican Establishment, because like Newt Gingrich, it is more important for her to be acknowledged as a social liberal than a fiscal conservative. That’s not Reaganism. Your pledge to conservative principles and constitutional government supercedes what one does in the privacy of one’s domicile. That’s the dichotomy that exists for the Rockefeller Republicans.

Fiorina’s bigger problem is going to be “is she competent?” Her CEOship at HP isn’t exactly a sterling endorsement.

Mark, she signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. The Op-ed she published the day she announced shows she supports smaller government. She won Tom Coburn’s endorsement.

That said, she’d be wise to attend a few tea parties. And I’ll make sure to say as much to tell that to my contacts on the campaign.
