By the way, I do believe there is one bright spot in all of this. With only 10 months of Obama’s disastrous Presidency behind us, it would normally be premature to start puffing too loudly about Obama’s deteriorating re-election prospects in 2012. However, with this new announcement I now feel perfectly comfortable predicting that Obama will be a one-term President. There’s no longer a shred of doubt in my mind about it. His economic, national security, immigration, and environmental policies will do exactly what they have been predicted to do: FAIL. And when you add to that the backdrop of these public trials dragging on for years, there’s no way Obama gets a second term. Even if everything goes precisely as Eric Holder has assured us it will, there is literally no way that these trials will not be a constant, embarrassing distraction from Obama’s Presidency. Conservatives and the 9/11 families will ensure that. And that’s a best case scenario. If one of these trials shows even a hint of going sideways on the Justice Department–CATASTROPHE.

The fact is, if you knew even one thing about the American criminal justice system, the military courts, or the distinctions between the two, you would actually be able to comprehend how stupid you sound by contending that trying enemy combatants in a military forum UNDERMINES the American legal system.

Are you completely incapable of recognizing that perhaps TODAY was not the best day to slap Americans with this decision (just before hopping a plane to Asia for the weekend)? Have you considered how the families of those who lost loved ones on 9/11 and at Ft. Hood might perceive these abrupt, unilateral developments? Or, are you so completely overtaken by your rapturous worship of Obama that you see nothing in his actions but genius, perfectly conceived and executed statesmanship? Would it make any difference to you whatsoever if instead, Obama had just made this announcement during his speech at the Ft. Hood memorial (maybe he could have given a warm “shout out” to KSM during his remarks)?
