Indeed, I've read many APs (Adventure Paths) where writers have to dive in and pick up a plot with notes from the editor. I've also had some of my ideas improved on and used by other authors. Editors are essential.

(As I'm sure Dan can attest, having one's work shredded is also good character building)

<i>Because he actually wrote his books, genius…</i>

Tano,

Sometimes a man can claim that he wrote his books all by himself because they call his ghostwriter an "editor" instead. There's often a very fine line between the two.

And you can pay an "editor" less.

Obama wrote both of his books. He says so. Obama was born in Hawaii. He says so. Obama won't tax people making under $250,000 a year by as much a one thin dime. He says so. You can keep your medical insurance if you like it. He says so. No federal money will go for paying for an abortion. He says so. Iran will not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. He says so. Unemployment will not rise above 8%. He says so. He will not sign a health bill that adds to the deficit. He says so. Frogs will dance and pigs will fly. He says so. He never knew Rev. Wright has curious ideas. He says so. He barely knows Bill Ayers. He says so. He was shocked, shocked, shocked to find that ACORN had a faint taint of corruption. He says so. He didn't know his Attorney General was going to have terrorists tried in NYC. He says so. He has no reason to believe that the Ft. Hood massacre was an act of terrorism. He says so.

Tano has it pretty easy. Anything the Obamessiah says is fact. And anything said about Sarah Palin is a fact because she is dumb and on the wrong page.

My prediction--and you heard it here first--Palin is going to move to Montana or North Dakota and run for Senate. I think she would make a great senator and I would happily vote for her. After six years in the Senate, she will be ready to make a run for President.

#4: "And you want the latest? Talking Points Tano and his fellow puppets are trying to scream that Lynn Vincent is “racist”, despite her pastor being black and her having spent the past few years writing inspirational books about racial reconciliation."

FYI, NDT, this is actually the SECOND attempt of the Left to trample Vincent's reputation with their lies and politically-correct jackboots. Andrew Sullivan condemned her as a "fanatical homophobe" based on her opposition to same-sex marriage and other leftist bloggers followed suit. In an piece she wrote for Big Hollywood (in which she interviews Carrie Prejean), Vincent makes the point that if Sullivan had bothered to reach out to her instead of trying to marginalize her with insults, they could have had a productive dialogue about the basis for her views and he would have learned in the process that her sister is an outspoken lesbian of the "progressive left" and that her best friend and the maid of honor at her wedding is also a lesbian.

http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/lvincent/2009/11/12/interview-former-miss-california-carrie-prejean/

So, the Left can't even confine its smears and lies to Palin herself--even the collaborator on her book isn't safe from being publicly trashed as a racist and a homophobe. Yet at the same time we're supposed to believe that they are NOT obsessed with Palin, threatened by her, and/or terrified of her potential future in politics. I'm confused--if conservative ideas are so terrible and were permanently rejected by the American people when they elected Obama, then why is the Left so totally invested in choosing our political candidates for us? If liberal ideas are so vastly and conclusively superior, why should it matter to the Left who the GOP ultimately backs for elected office?

Glad to see that Palin's book was released today. I've been waiting to buy my hardcopy at Borders. I love Amazon, but there is something special about buying a popular libertarian-conservative book at a real bookstore, then enjoying it at a cafe. I have a fond memory of doing it in August 2004 with John O'Neill's book <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Unfit-Command-Swift-Veterans-Against/dp/0895260174" rel="nofollow">Unfit For Command</a>, the week it was in bookstores.

I am an outsider and therefore not influenced by the fluff pieces who get on the TV with all of their cat wailing about Sarah Palin. Whilst in the USA I did get to see an interview with Palin on the TV. She came across as very intelligent.

What I do not understand is how the Obots can be so hypocritical about the issue, because most of us realize that Obot is nothing more than an airhead, an empty suit, who knows very little about anything. His bowing and scraping around the world are making him into a laughing stock, but more important is is lack of historical perspective.

Today I saw a video about President Richard M. Nixon. Once again I was reminded of why it is that in the end that Nixon will be remembered for some things other than Watergate. It was Nixon who met Mao and opened up China for the West for the first time since the Chinese Revolution. Obama will never be able to live up to what was achieved by Nixon.

I do have a lot of reservations about the Vietnam War, but my American cousin went to Vietnam as a conscript. It was the Democrats who favoured conscription, not Nixon and the Republicans. I can remember some of that time since I was in my late teens when it was all happening. The video I watched reminded me of the hard choices that Nixon had to make at the time to at least try and control the situation when the North had its final surge and took the south. He was in the middle of negotiations with the Soviets who were at the time supplying arms to the North Vietnamese. The Chinese were doing the same thing. He had to make a choice to bomb the harbour with Soviet ships being there and then attend a summit with the Russians. Nixon had the cajones to make a very hard choice!!

Now I am no fan of Nixon, just like I was no fan of GWB but I can only sit back in awe when I realize the hard decisions that he made in the face of an implacable enemy when we were in the middle of the cold war. Yeah Nixon deserved a Nobel Peace Prize because he actually did some good in the world with his negotiations, not life doofus who looks like a character from South Park who bends over and sniffs his own odour.

While I haven't seen the entire interview of Governor Palin on Oprah, I was disappointed that Oprah did not ask Governor Palin substantive questions about her views on policies and political issues. Certainly, people are fascinated by Sarah Palin's personal life, but I do think that Governor Palin was treated differently during and after the campaign because she was a woman. While I don't believe that Sarah Palin was qualified to be Vice President or for that matter to be President of the United States, it doesn't mean that she does not deserve respect for running for office and for being a strong leader!

If I were advising Governor Palin on a potential future run for the White House, I would encourage her to surround herself with experts in foreign and domestic policy, education, the environment, and so on. She needs to demonstrate that she has the political knowledge and fortitude to carry the weight of the Presidency. I think people need to give her an equal chance and to weigh her qualifications based on her position on key issues, her political decisions, and her policies, and not on her fashion or her daughter's ex-boyfriend's escapades....even though he is a cutie :-)

Um, Tano, go read Obama's books and you'll notice one thing, the styles of each are entirely different. I won't speak right now to the controversy surrounding the authorship of the first, but will say I highly doubt he wrote the second. In fact, I would bet good money that he didn't write that book.

Just look at the publication date--and his schedule at the time.

Tano, please recall how the Carter campaign cheered as Ronald Reagan was rolling to the GOP nomination in 1980.

How many states did Jimmah win that fall?

I should say the conclusion that people are <i>increasingly</i> drawing, considering all the polls show Americans disapprove of Obama and the Democrats and trust Republicans more on virtually every issue, and considering even New Jersey is electing Republicans again.

According to Tardo and those who author his talking points, we should not take Sarah Palin seriously because she spends all her time defending herself from dishonest attacks that they waged against her in the first place.

Gee! Wouldn't that be convenient!

The real conclusion people should, and will eventually draw, is that the left is made up of liars, scum, bullies and thugs who attack anyone and everyone who comes between them and your money.

<blockquote>Do you think they’d pay him Levi Johnston heed if he only had good things to say about his son’s maternal grandmother?</blockquote>Levi is a 'fascinating' guy. ( <-- That's me trying to be civil, or not call names.)

Best description of him I came across: "Levi Johnston, noted Palin daughter-nailer..." I saw an article earlier today where poor Levi describes the agony of having your makeup put on by a gay guy:<blockquote>"That was the worst," Levi tells me. "I had some dude singing to me, the whole time. He was real happy. Calling me ‘baby' and all that. I kept my mouth shut."</blockquote>Poor baby. I guess that's life, when you sell out your babymommy so you can be "Ricky Hollywood, Douchebag".

I also read somewhere today that Levi's Playgirl pics will be fairly smokin', but will omit the full-frontal because he is not sure if he... um... measures up. Actually, Hillbuzz has the leaked preview:
http://hillbuzz.org/2009/11/16/exclusive-photos-of-levi-ricky-hollywood-johnstons-playgirl-photo-shoot-leaked/

(joke pix, and they're totally G-rated / safe for work)

A couple of points:
* It is not uncommon that in a country organized as a democracy with an election system the same situtation appears agin and again: if you don't have a college degree from an specific set of reputed universities, then you're not suitable to run for president. Even people to oppose that elitist notion shrug and sneer when a newcomer from outside from that particular system arrives. That's ironic, specially when Sarah Palin is considered to be a lightweight without ideas.
* Wilie Brown, a questionable but smart democrat politician is one of the few that can recognize Palin as a smart politician, too. When you remember things like AP having 11 fact-checkers for her book (she acknowledges the ghost-writing, and by the way Obama does not), you stop to wonder about a negative image. What the left-biased media has against Palin is very personal. They are up to destroy her or shape the public's perception about her into a very dismissive one.
