At the same time, close to where I live they have opened a wind farm with the ugly windmills taking over the country landscape. Yes, it is ugly and I doubt that it will be of any benefit in the production of electricity.

The truth is, NSW has a really good hydro-electric scheme called the Snowy Mountains Hydro-electricity. It is a clean way of producing electricity. There are other power stations that use coal. As far as I can see there is no evidence that indicates the coal powered stations have harmed the environment here in Australia. Victoria has always used the coal fired stations.

At the same time the greenies got to work and prevented the use of nuclear powered electricity. Oh they carried on a treat about mining yellowcake, but they seem to be quiet about exporting the same to China and elsewhere.

If we are looking for fuel alternatives e.g. through the use of something other than oil, then we also need to develop the engines and machinery to be able to use these alternatives. The production of smaller cars are not the answer, and neither is a car that partially runs on electricity. In a country with wide open spaces and lots of hills the electric car is bound to be a failure until such time that it can do the speed that will cut down travel.

However, there is perhaps another answer for interstate travel, which is a must in this vast land – train travel, especially the very fast train or VFT. However, the environmentalists have also blocked that idea. As a result a project that was proposed as far back as 1987 has not progressed to fruition. If it had, then people could have a fast alternative to cars and planes when travelling.

In California the environmentalists have continued their dirty work of destroying farms and jobs all because of some stupid fish which was probably not endangered in the first place.

For too long we have been at the mercy of these eco terrorists. We need to continue to say no. The outing of these science frauds as a result of Climategate is just the beginning as far as I am concerned. We all need to be vocal to stop our governments from taxing us to death.

Long ago, I had a college professor (electronic amplifiers and an upper-division instruments class – several text books to his credit) who had a near obsession with significant digits.

One sure way to earn the professor’s ire was to write something like “I = 1.223 mA” on a lab report. He would demand that you explain to him how you knew this value within a microamp given that your instruments were accurate to 3 digits. And he wasn’t real thrilled when you “corrected” your empirical results to fit your desired results.

The AGW people are trying to convince me that they know what the earth’s temperature was 500 or 1000 years ago based on a small sampling of proxies? They’re telling me that they know that some ice cores or fossilized tree rings are accurate to .05 degrees? Puhleeze. It’s an extrapolation. And don’t get me started on the timebase.

Where I live, it’s obvious that the climate is arid. Indeed, it’s a good bet that it’s been that way for 1000 years (at least). But there’s no way to state historical precipitation within a tenth of an inch.

The AGW evidence does not support the upending of the our political and economic systems.

We live on a planet with millions of poorly understood climate inputs (including the big thing in the daytime sky that seems to be ignored by some climate models). How do we determine what’s “just right”? We don’t live in a climate-controlled mall.
