By Palin-haters’ logic, Obama’s a liar

December 1, 2009 by B. Daniel Blatt

Google “Palin lie ‘bridge to nowhere’” and you get tens of thousands of hits, many to left-wing blogs (and even a few “news” articles) telling us that that good woman lied when she said “Thanks, but no thanks” to the “bridge to nowhere.”  You see, while campaigning for Governor of the Last Frontier n 2006, that Republican supported the bridge.  But, she, like many of us, from time to time, changed her mind.  And did so long before she spoke that line at the Republican National Convention in September 2008.

Indeed, the Alaska Democratic Party credited that reformed-minded Republican for killing the bridge.

Now, if changing one’s mind amounts to a lie, well, then Barack Obama is the biggest liar of them all.

When each of his promises reaches its “expiration date,” well, then the Democrat tells another whopper.  He lied about using public funding for his campaign.  He lied about delivering a “net spending cut.”  He lied about going line by line through the federal budget and eliminating programs that don’t work.  And on and on it goes.

So eager are some to “get” Sarah Palin that they apply a standard to her which, if applied to any one of their political allies, would make them look far worse, far, far worse than than accomplished conservative.

Bottom line: Sarah Palin did say “Thanks, but no thanks” to the “bridge to nowhere.” And, for God knows what reason, that fact makes lefties cry.

I’m reminded of another controversy, John Kerry “I voted for the $87 billion [to fund our troops in battle] before I voted against it.” There, lefties emphasized that Kerry had (supposedly) done nothing wrong.

And how could we forget John F.You Kerry (who served in Vietnam) and Teddy Kennedy’s involvement in the “Big Dig”?

Frankly, if we pay for a tunnel to BOS, I don’t see why we couldn’t pay for a bridge to KTN.

I don’t know who coined the words “The Bridge to Nowhere” but I bet he was never in the city that that bridge would serve. And I bet 99 per cent of the people can’t name the city either but they know all about the Bridge to Nowhere (except TGC who knows that it IS KTN).

Since the city is located on a side of a very steep mountain and no place for an airfield it was built on an island across a narrow very choppy and sometimes dangerous channel especially for small boats. When the bridge was first proposed, it was estimated to cost 3 million. What percentage of the national budget is that? Besides the bridge could be built by Alaskans themselves if the corrupt Congress in Washington kept their noses out of Alaska and let them develop their resources.

I don’t know what the population of the island now is but 60 some years ago it had over a hundred CAA(FAA) living on the island plus many fishermen and hunters. And I am sure they all looked forward when there would be a bridge.

Furthermore, I don’t know any place in Alaska that is a NOWHERE!

I think this guy is by far the biggest liar we have ever had. We know Bush said no new taxes and they would replay that every second on tv, but this guys lies seem to be swept under the carpet. The biggest lie was that he would end the war as soon as he was elected. Remember that Obama lovers?
