Just got another piece of spam from “Equality California” asking:
“How are we going to win marriage back in California?” and “Why do we keep losing at the ballot box?”
Filled with a the same sort of mumbo-jumbo we hear from this left-wing organization, the e-mail was just another (of the all too many) fund-raising solicitations I regularly receive from gay groups. So, I wrote back a hasty response:
Actually, you’ll win when you get a (sic)* leadership at Equality California that is not prejudiced against Republicans.
Wonder if the Advocate will count this as anti-gay and our critics will use this a proof of the oft-repeated slur that gay conservatives are self-hating.

*I typed in haste and included an unnecessary, indefinite article.
Well I got called a bigot for thinking that illegal immigration needed to be curbed… I pointed out I was Hispanic and a first generation “American”, that EVERY person in my parents collective families (almost 30 of us at the time, god bless the Catholics hehe) became legal citizens through legal means and that they all agreed with me… The people I was talking too didn’t seem like that…
Got them to shut up though, granted this was pre-‘the “self hating” tag’.
Good luck with that though, but honestly I think your fighting a river with a spoon.
Most likely. But who cares for the Advocate’s opinion anyway?
PS: Using sic to point out an unnecessary word or typo seem rather pedantic to me.
CLDave, pedantic it may be, but I was having a little fun and thought it was in the spirit of the post–showing that we may typos when sending e-mails in haste, in response to the PC mumbo jumbo we receive from gay organizations, this blogger like that reporter (Mr. Grard).
Indeed. J/k.
One-up: I grew up in a household with firearms. Been an NRA member since I was a small-fry (now a Life member). I must have given to some lefty charity ’cause I started getting “give us money” letters from, of all things, The Brady Campaign (To Defeat The Second Amendment).
I got sick of ’em (The lies! Oh God, the lies!) and fired off a letter stating I would give the NRA $1000 every time I received any communications from The Brady Campaign.
Never heard from them again.
Not sure that would work for other radical lefty charities though.
