Are you kidding? Government is the REASON health care costs are skyrocketing to begin with. The only reason government needs to step in is to UNDO the damage they have already done.

Medicare, medicaid, SCHIPS, are ALREADY bankrupt, and health care providers are forced to shift the cost they do not recoup from those socialist programs onto the rest of us. Meanwhile Democrats at the national and state level demand that people buy policies covering things they dont want coverage for. For example, why the hell should I be forced to buy a plan that covers birth control pills or mamograms? I am guaranteed to never need them. Why should a happily married woman be forced to buy a policy that covers HIV infection or erectile dysfunction?

Why shouldnt I be able to shop around and buy the policy I want that covers what I need, from anywhere in the country?

The truth is that none of us should be forced to buy coverage we dont want, and it is Democrats fascist regulation of the industry, and to a lesser but significant extent, their refusal to allow tort reform, that have driven health care costs through the ceiling.

And once again they say the reason that health care is so expensive is because government doesn’t control the market enough.

You clearly DO believe that, and, I’m sorry, but you are ignorant for it.

That has ALWAYS been their solution and it is the reason health care has gotten so unaffordable to begin with. Even the CBO recognizes that all the Democrats plans will make care MORE EXPENSIVE, not less.

It’s not the government’s job to do that which people are capable of doing for themselves.

When the government tells you who you must cover, what you must cover them for, how long you must cover them, when it establishes who consumers can get insurance from and who they cant, where they can get it, what it must cover, etc…

that IS government-run health care. It’s also called fascism.

NO, that is the govt doing it’s job. There is a fine line between govt-run HC and the govt doing its job of oversight.

Of course the govt must regulate.

In fact, we must minimalize govt ownership of private capital.

We cannot have universal coverage without a strong individual mandate, i.e., the penalty must be comparable to what it would cost to pay premiums.

Without a strong individual mandate, we’re just asking for higher premiums.

But no, jail is ridiculous.

There are other ways to get Libertarians to ante up.

And it’s not worth firing a shot.

Those who truly cannot afford will receive subsidies.
