2010 Grande Conservative Blogress Diva Official Ballot
You can vote for one diva each day, with balloting closing at noon on December 31, 2009.
And recall we here at GayPatriot define a diva as “a strong, confident woman who commands the respect of men.” A conservative blogress diva need not be conservative. All she must do command the respect (or have otherwise earned the admiration) of gay conservatives.
And please note that while there are many conservative blogress divas, including a good number not on this ballot, only one woman can become the Grande Conservative Blogress Diva.

Oops.
I voted.
Not gay.
Against the rules?

I had to vote for Tammy. And the fact that I like to look at her is not the only reason.
She takes an incredible amount of abuse from the liberal elite to which she once belonged. It took courage for her to “come out” as a conservative.
When I argue with my liberal friends, who think I’ve lost my mind, I frequently quote her. She is a source of inspiration.

I’m only familiar with 5 of them; can I vote more than one? The ones I know are great.

Norma, you can vote once a day until the end of the year.

Ann Althouse is a conservative? Right. And I’m the Dalai freakin Lama.

Anyone, gay or not, that doesn’t respect those women on this list is in the running for dimbulb of the year. I don’t always agree with any of them, heck I’ll argue with myself over what to have for breakfast. Sometimes I even get angry with some of them. Respect, though, always.
Comment by Peter — December 22, 2009 @ 9:15 pm - December 22, 2009
Ann Althouse isn’t a conservative but she got tossed out with the Liberal bathwater soon after the blogosphere was birthed for thinking we probably didn’t deserve 9-11. That’s all it took back then. I don’t care that she’s not conservative on all issues when “conservative” is used as a pejorative term to smear her. Not knuckling down to the public shaming is a pretty conservative thing, I think.
She is also very pro-gay.
And diva-like.
Send the lady some love.

Man; this one is tough. I’m tempted to toggle around for ten days or whatever, but then I’ll just cancel myself out . . .
I’m thinking Cynthia or Neo. Or, of course, one of the others.

I am the only one of the nine finalists who is fully committed to working for homosexual equality in addition to working to support fiscal conservatism. I am going to campaign for the title of Grande Conservative Blogress 2010 here because I am the newest of the nine finalists and so Gay Patriot’s gay conservative readers just do not know that they finally have a candidate for the title who is really fighting for them.
Even though Tammy Bruce is a lesbian, my impression is that she puts her attention primarily on fiscal conservative issues and that she has the legitimate concern of not wanting to offend her social conservative fans by advocating for homosexual equality too strongly or too often. In addition, regarding same-sex marriage equality, her personal story doesn’t strike me as one that will really win the hearts and minds of people who oppose it.
However, my personal story, as one of the commenters who seconded my nomination noted, is extremely compelling. When I met my late life partner, she was already too disabled from multiple sclerosis to work. But I fell madly in love with her and promised her we would be together in sickness and in health until death parted us. We had more than 20 years together — she was quadriplegic for the last 10. I link our story at my blog in my “get to know me” post for this contest. This is the kind of mutual devotion that opponents of same-sex marriage equality want to see to believe that supporting our equality will support their own ideals.
So, if you are a gay conservative, vote for me — I am the only finalist who is totally fighting for YOU. Supporting me in winning this honor will give me additional credibility that I will use to continue fighting for YOU. So vote for Cynthia Yockey, A Conservative Lesbian, every day on every computer you have.
Thank you.

My vote(s) will go for neoneocon.
Of all of the women on the list, I think she has the best mix of principled positions explained in a persuasive, respectful way. She (not Althouse, sorry) is the best example we have of a person who has really re-assessed her positions and landed firmly on the conservative side of the aisle on major issues like terrorism, health care, and economics. Her journey from Liberal Democrat to ‘conservative’ (what she calls classical liberalism) has been truly meaningful. And, as a true convert to conservatism she is in a really great position to persuade others.

friends:
this kelso broad. a bit prim for this election, ain’t she? we ain’t raffliing chocolate chips in a church basement, we are selecting a diva.
i thought we were electing a diva here, … , a diva, … , a hot blooded, vital, vigorous, lusty woman, … , a diva, … , not a school marm. not some priss.
i like my diva’s with a bit of sassiness, and don’t cotton to milquetoasts, tenderfeet, other prissy proper gals like old kelsie, here.
so, it’s pamela geller for me. no other choice, far’s “diva’s” are concerned.
bette midler was a diva. shelly winters was a diva. liz taylor & sophia loren. divas.
donny osborne’s sister. donny osborne, for that matter, … , well, close w/ donny, but in the end, … , no. not diva’s. nor the tiny little twins, kate and what’shername? the little olsens. no. not divas.
i like my divas just a little larger than life, made of stuff.
not prissy and prim. not like kelsie, here.
i like a gal with spirit, who ain’t afraid to say it as she sees it, and doesn’t have to gussy it up proper before she puts it in the front window, all frilled up proper.
who is, by the way, this stephanie kelso, this grim grunch who seems devoid of humor?
i like my gals cut from pamela geller’s cloth, and am not gonna loose much sleep over kelsie’s views on the matter.
and, no, it don’t hurt that she six ways beautiful, and built like the proverbial brick out house. that’s a quality build, folks.
attsa woman, any one’s league.

Wouldst that we would receive Pamelas from our Lord in heaven for the 72 leading movers&shakers in this country. Our national and international influence would then shine from somewhere over the rainbow.

I’m going with neo. The Anchoress is a very close second, and then comes Pamela.
Thanks for the ballot choices!

Cynthia,
With all due respect, you are not fighting for me, or “us”. You are claiming we lack equality that we do not lack, which means you are fighting for victimhood, not for us. I am not a victim. I am not treated unequally, or unfairly. And insisting that people who are not victims should be treated as though they are — well, there’s nothing conservative about that at all.
Oh, is that whats going on? So in other words, the results wont represent anything except who spams the poll the most.
Sounds like how ACORN gets out the vote!
Now, how about a vote for hottest congressman!
