Will Vacationing Obama Visit Ailing Limbaugh in Hawai’i Hospital?

January 1, 2010 by B. Daniel Blatt

Every now and again, you come across an idea or expression on another blog (or web-site) so unbelievably brilliant you wish you had thunk it up yourself. Well, Glenn (Reynolds) came up with one the other day which would do much to rehabilitate the president’s “post-partisan” image, you know the one he had cooked up in his successful 2008 bid for the White House.

In reporting the other day that Rush Limbaugh was in the hospital with chest pains in Hawaii (where the prez is also vacationing), the blogger known as Instapundit opined, “If I were Obama’s press guy, I’d set up a hospital visit.”

Just think this for a minute.  The liberal president goes to visit the conservative talk show host, one of his harshest critics, wishing him a speedy recovery so they can continue their spirited debate.  Imagine how that would play across the country.  It would show that Barack Obama is really making an effort to live up to his campaign rhetoric of transcending partisan differences.

OPPORTUNITY LOST:   “LIMBAUGH RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL.”  Tests OK.

Okay, how about inviting the talk show host for a game of golf, considering both men love the game?

And Barack Obama’s ego would not let him do it even for purely political reasons.

It would be funnier if they had an awkward moment accidentally meeting at the grocery store.

One apparently does it for a living at taxpayer’s expense. Guess which one.

Remember when we had presidents who would do that sort of thing? Presidents who would treat their political opponents with grace? When we had presidents who would invite opposition leaders over for movies and say gracious things about the people who just tried to steal the furniture on the way out of the white house?

With memories like that its easy to momentarily forget that we now have a community organizer in chief who flips his opponents off, lies about them daily, and lashes out at his predecessor ten times faster than he can condemn terrorist attacks on the country.

No, Obama will not be visiting Rush Limbaugh in this lifetime. He doesn’t have the character.

Someone (I think it was at the Corner) made the excellent point that the same people who are gleefully wishing slow painful death on Rush Limbaugh because they dont approve of him are the same people who want to seize control over your health care.

Due to the fact that when Obama gave his speech about the Christmas Day attempted terrorist attack that Obama did not even mention the name of the hero on that flight who saved everyone, I can only surmise that his ego does not allow him to share the spotlight with anyone else. In fact, he just about took credit himself that the attack was thrwarted. At least he was taken to task for not instantly admitting that the system did not work.

Premier Obama should invite Rush over for a smoke. Rush isn’t shy about his love for cigars, and Obama obviously lies about quitting cigarettes….

He would have to do one heck of a lot more than visit Rush to live up to his campaign rhetoric. So far, he has lived up to nada!

It took Obama over three days to get his butt over Ft. Hood after 13 soldiers were killed and over 30 injured. So I doubt that he’ll hightail it to Rush Limbaugh’s bedside.

Levi is back in town! He says that for Obama to extend a hand to Rush Limbaugh, he would have to be totally retarded.

Thank you Levi, for supporting bipartisanship.

President GW Bush: Lets Ed Kennedy write NCLB, invites him over for movies.

President Obama, won’t even go visit a sick American.

I really thought Obama would visit the brave troops in Iraq for Thanksgiving. Then I thought maybe he would visit the heros fighting for freedom in Afghanistan for Christmas. So by the time Limbaugh was ill just blocks away from Obamas sunbathing and reading Harry Potter I didn’t have my hopes up for him finally “reaching across the isle”.

Levi…..gosh a lefitst….now that one is back could they explain some things….napalatanos boobery, the possible new TSA chief lying to Congress, Obamas record low polling, why the Dems are pushing Obamacare that 70% of America is against, cap n trade that 70% of the country is against, all the Dems dropping out before next years election, do the lefitsts in here agree that the Dems will lose 40 house seats and possibly 8 in the Senate, the leftist opinion of Ben Nelsons bribery and the backlash……that kind of stuff that the hit and run liberals never address in here. They wait til the next scandal to even raise their heads. hehe

The brilliant independent pollster Rasmussen has been tracking the collapse of the support of the people for the fraud Obama.
He has a yearlong look now at the softening then collapse of support.
Check it out. Rasmussen was way ahead of the state run, main stream media on how soft support was for the OOOO one.

You know, when George Bush was President, Keith Olbermann had to go to the hospital to have his appendix taken out – did George Bush go visit him? Would that have been some awesome demonstration of bipartisanship on the part of George Bush? Did George Bush miss some massive opportunity by not going to visit him in the hospital? Did all of you sit around criticizing George Bush for not visiting Keith Olbermann in the hospital?

Is there some kind of decade spanning secret conservative contest running where each of you tries to find the stupidest and most insincere way of complaining or whining about something pointless and trivial?

And I mean a contest separate from the process by which you pick your leaders and spokesmen….ziiiiing……..

    Regarding post 19:

There is a difference between Keith Olbermann and Rush Limbaugh: 15 million or so listen to Rush Limbaugh on any given day. Keith Olbermann gets about 700000 views a day and thats including the repeat broadcasts.

Most Americans have heard of Rush Limbaugh for better or worse, most have never heard of Keith Olbermann.

    Levi’s got a point.

I mean President Bush didn’t publicly single out a private citizen like President Obama did, so he should have gone and visited the public citizen in the hospital.

    Oh, wait…

Sorry Levi, President Bush worked and lived in Washington DC, while the tax-dodger, Keith Odorpants, the whitest man in America with the whitest audience in America, on the whitest network in America, lives and works in New York.

Obama was just a mile or two from Rush Limbaugh. Could have done it in a half an hour. But alas, Obama was too busy golfing and surfing to even take a terrorist attack seriously, so obviously he wasn’t prepared (man, doesnt that phrase sum up his entire presidency!) to visit Rush in hospital.

oh, my links dont work. lets try again…

whitest audience in America, on the whitest network in America…

not that I think there’s anything wrong with whites, but I know Levi does, and it will drive him nuts to learn that more minorities watch Sean Hannity and Bill OReilly than watch Keith Odorpants, and that his favorite network is the whitest, least diverse network in America!
