First, it was Himalayan glaciers, now it’s the Amazon rainforest
A startling report by the United Nations climate watchdog that global warming might wipe out 40% of the Amazon rainforest was based on an unsubstantiated claim by green campaigners who had little scientific expertise.
(H/t: Instapundit.)
BTW, has anyone seen Al Gore recently? Figured he might be back home in Tennessee given that his home state bore the brunt of the recent snow storm. The global warming zealot always does seem to find himself where temperatures are coldest.

He’s probably out trying to get that darned polar bear back out on another chuck of glacier that’s floating up north!

Last I heard, Algore was meeting with John Edwards about teaming up for a 2012 run as soon as they can agree on who heads the ticket and whether to move the Presidential Palace out of Port-au-Prince.

It is amazing how the Left is taking their cues from President Obama on the whole collapse of Global Warming theory and credibility–namely, pretend it never happened and forge ahead.
The thing we need to understand is that these people do not truly care for the polar bears or the planet, they simply want to control the world. It is like when the President scoffed at the Republicans that it was silly to consider the Healthcare takeover a “Bolshevik plot”; But, if you have to say it isn’t a Bolshevik plot, doesn’t it mean it is one?

Look you silly morons, no one ever said that global warming meant it was going to stop snowing. Every one of these posts is just embarrassing; “Hey, it’s really cold! So much for global warming, huh?” It’s January. This is the coldest month of the year, and it will continue to be the coldest month of the year. Last week it was sixty degrees for about three days, which is unusually warm for January where I live. Does that mean global warming is occurring? That’s unassailable logic if we’re to follow your formulations.
Grow up and start using your brains already.

Whether or not the world is warming is not really the issue. The issue is did we cause it? Considering what we know about solar output and the warming trend on other planets, the answer should be no. Only our egos makes us think we could be the cause. And only our egos makes us believe we could stop it if only we had the will to sacrifice. Silly morons indeed.

Keep grasping at them straws, Levi. How sad.
The implosion continues.

Just noticed the last line:
Says the ass clown who believes what he’s told because so many people who am mucher smarter tells him so.
C’mon, Levi! That’s precisely what you don’t want. When people grow up and use their brains, they see the bare-naked fraud, corruption and extortion for what it is. It sure as hell ain’t “science”.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around Levi’s complaining about the supreme court’s decision. After all he’s the one who said that the judges get to decide what the constitution means.
As to this latest pathetic spinning… His immunity to facts is quite amusing.

Hey, let’s cut Levi some slack. He is trying to tell us that he is risking his street cred in the hood by even coming here:
God bless you, Levi, you are risking your hard earned rep to do us a favor and then we turn on you. This is the stuff of saints.

Look you silly morons, no one ever said that global warming meant it was going to stop snowing.
But you and they DID say that science proved that global warming would wipe out 40% of the Amazon rain forest, that the Himalayan glaciers would be gone by 2035, and that global warming was directly responsible for hurricanes and floods.
All of which have now been shown to be bullshit pushed by interest groups.
Of course, like a good Alinsky boy and spoiled brat, you try yelling and screaming that we should be embarrassed for daring to point out your lies and the crap that you pushed as “science”, calling us “silly morons” in the process.
You lied, Levi. You faked science. You took crap and tried to peddle it as facts. And that attitude that you think you can do this because you’re a liberal is why you are a complete, utter, and abject failure anywhere outside the Barack Obama Party.
Comment by North Dallas Thirty — February 1, 2010 @ 4:44 pm - February 1, 2010
Levi,
What is embarrassing is you.
The main point of Dan’s post was that the UN’s IPCC can’t tell the difference between reputable scientists and two idiots from the WWF. You didn’t even notice this! No.
You too busy calling people morons (thus projecting your own stupidity onto others) to have noticed.
True. But they have said that global warming means that Antarctica will thaw flooding the world, the Sahara will consume Africa, and now that the Amazon will disappear. AND THEY KEEP SAYING THESE THINGS EVEN AS THE WARMING OF THE 90S HAS STOPPED!
But never mind. Those folks who are skeptical about the outlandish claims of people who manipulate data and subvert peer review in order to support green zealotry are the real dummies. Because you said so.
