CPAC – Day Two

Ugh. Frustrating Day Two.  My laptop isn’t working, my iPhone isn’t working and I overslept.  That all being said, I’m finally in Blogger’s Lounge and PatriotPartner is our “floor reporter” (photos to follow soon!).

I was interviewed this morning by National Journal on gay issues.  I think it came out well.  Time will tell, eh?

I did catch most all of Cong. Mike Pence’s speech about an hour ago.  Good stuff.  Jimmy LaSalvia (GOProud.org) and I disagree on Pence as Presidential material.  So I’ll have to see what Jimmy thought about Pence’s speech.

So far in Blogger’s Lounge — we’ve had a visit from Gov. Tim Pawlenty and the FOX News crew who came by a few minutes ago.  I’ll have short video up on Pawlenty in a few minutes.

  1. I’m not sure how these would come up, but have you noticed whether the people at CPAC believe the 3 points I’ve listed?

    1. Are they pro-life?

    2. Do they reject evolution? (This might come up if they talk about returning God to the schools.)

    3. Do they have a personal relationship with the Living Christ?

I suspect these 3 things, which I believe and which connect me with conservatives, were a large part of the subtext of the presentations and speeches. I could be wrong–but am I right?

  2. 1 – Mostly, as am I. But it hasn’t come up aside from people wearing Pro-Life stickers.

    2 – Hasn’t come up. No stickers.

3 – Most probably do, as I do. But it also hasn’t come up. No stickers.

  3. Thanks. I’m not sure these things will come up directly–but I suspect they are a subtext in some of the goings-on. The reason I bring them up is that conservative gays need to understand that these ideas are, IMHO, foundational for most of today’s conservative thought–see Huckabee, Coulter, Thomas, Palin, Beck, Romney, etc. etc. If gays are dismissive or uninformed about these 3 ideas, then they will not be able to move easily in conservative circles.

  4. Wow! Seems you guys are making quite an impact at CPAC. I’ve been sent articles and videos about it today. Good job! I am so glad you are there. Thank you.

  5. Did it bother you gay conservatives that in his speech Pence thundered his endorsement for a constitutional amendment to make gays second-class citizens?

GP Ed. Note: You will have to send me that video. I watched Pence’s speech and I did not hear those words spoken.

  6. You mean the same one that the Barack Obama Party and HRC fully endorse and support?

Why do you support making yourself a “second-class citizen”, CPAC Watcher? Or are you just demonstrating what hypocritical liars gays and lesbians like you are?

  7. I’m not a fan of Pence. He called for a constitutional amendment to protect the sanctity of marriage (i.e., to ban states from recognizing gay marriage) during his CPAC speech, here.

DND is misinformed. Obama opposes a federal amendement to ban gay marriage, and opposed Calif’s anti-gay-marriage Prop 8. He has said, however, he personally believes marriage is between a man and women.
