GayPatriot On The Ed Morrissey Show
On Saturday, I had the pleasure of being interviewed by the CPAC Blogger of the Year, Ed Morrissey on his live broadcast from the Blogger’s Lounge.
Here is the video. I’m anxious for your thoughts.

Good job! Only complaint, Ed just couldn’t get the URL right, first .com then .net.

Highlights:
1. Ed that conservatives’ goal should be to achieve a governing coalition in Congress.
2. Bruce: “I’m certainly more comfortable at CPAC than I am at a gay pride parade or a liberal gay event where I would be ridiculed, my family would be attacked – because it’s happened – and I wouldn’t be welcomed because of who I am and my political views. I’m very welcome here this week.”
Ed: “You feel welcome?”
Bruce: “Absolutely.”
3. Bruce opposing top-down, PC pressure to repeal DADT. That’s more respectful of the military and more shrewd, politically, than most commentary on the subject.

Is the whole video viewable? I’ve heard there was a glitch.

you lost any credibility by invoking Ann Coulter and “facts.” Other than that, you did a fine job; the interviewer, whoever he is, was, as he admitted, a terrible interviewer.
Yawn.

It seemed like a spur of the moment interview. Like Ed decided to ask for an interview shortly before he did it so there was not the research and poignant questions….and that’s ok…..I think it comes across as an endorsement for inclusiveness (is that a word?) Anyway, great video.

#4: Oh, the humanity. You’ve lost all credibility with browneye “it’s gonna be a loooooong decade for you neocons!” nutlicker.

Very interesting to watch and good to see. What the clip lacked in polish it more than made up for in heartfelt sincerity and integrity. Kudos for you both!

Fun interview. The only glitch I encountered was some noise that sounded a lot like someone trying to tap out morse code on a kazoo, but it didn’t prevent me from hearing the interview itself.
Your conversation was great, and you both come across as very personable, instantly likable people. Your answers were right on the money. Sounds like CPAC was great fun.

Lurker here. Ed needs to work on his interviewing skills, and you need to work on not sounding monotone, but both are forgivable. I’d rather hear two smart people sound a little awkward having an intelligent conversation than polished pros talking over each other and saying nothing of substance any day of the week.

Great job! The interviewer left a great deal to be desired, but you were right on. Of course, I am partial to you anyway….And if you gor to just GayPatriot your blog comes up.

I do not know where else I can post my disgust at CPAC endorsement of Ron Paul. Albeit a straw poll it sends a message that we have no young candidates. 74 is OLD and he should go away. I was glad it was only 31% but come on….Glenn Beck would have been a better choice.
We tried OLD remember!!!!!!!!!!

Great job, Bruce, and it was a pleasure seeing you again, and meeting PatriotPartner, too.
Keep up the good work!

PatriotMom,
I wouldn’t worry about the straw poll… everyone knows it’s bunk. That’s how the Paul crowd works: find a poll and flood it with Ron Paul disciples. In 2008 Ron Paul won every internet poll because his rabid army of 500 believers roamed the net looking for polls to spam.
Only 400 people voted at CPAC (out of thousands), and yet every single wild-eyes Paul worshipper voted… There’s a metaphor in there about voting in general, I’m sure.

You missed the center of the Sorba issue as it was more with the host’s performance in the realm of where is the line separating opinion and bigotry and what the heck was he doing on stage to begin with? (reference Tammy Bruce’s valid question at her blog). Perhaps your comments regarding Sorba referenced the obvious as opposed to the crux of the issue? But you did a great job giving an overview of the Sorba scenario by pointing out that it started with Students for Liberty’s comments about GOProud.
Perhaps your employer J+J could get to work on a medicine for Bush D. Syndrome?
How come everyone’s complaining about the interviewer? I thought he was pretty focused, and I liked his use of the term “misapprehension.”

Some additional thoughts on the interview. It was at the back of the PACKED Bloggers Lounge and the podium action was being broadcast in the room as well. So I was trying to be respectful to the bloggers around me by not shouting — but as you can tell, it was hard not to shout.
Also, Ed did a great job. He was literally shuttling people in and out of the chair next to him for three days straight — LIVE. I haven’t seen anyone at MSNBC (for example) doing as good of a job ad-libbing LIVE for three days…

Well… The video framerate seems low. I’m sure it’s no fault of yours, it just means the video is better heard than seen. And Ed Morrissey == Cool.

Awesome! Keep up the good fight. More conservatives will see the light and open their hearts.
