RING, RING.
ME: Hello?
INTRUDER BY PHONE: “Hi, first I want to thank you for your previous contributions to Senator John McCain and for being such a strong supporter.”
ME: HAHAHAHA. Um, what? I am NOT a supporter.
IBP: Oh, I sense frustrations, may I ask why you…
ME: IMMIGRATION! DUH!
IBP: Well, you will be happy to know that Senator McCain is working to…
ME: DON’T CALL ME AGAIN.
CLICK.
I wish you had not hung up. I have always wanted to know more about McQueeg’s geometric logic. You could have asked about how he developed the careful timing and nuance involved in flipping off the base. You could have asked about how he was able to divine just how political speech should be controlled by the government. And then, as you said, there is McQueeg’s perfect asymmetrical logic in balancing “illegal” with “immigration.”
Try selling them girlscout cookies next time.
Being a realist, I’d be more receptive to his views on amnesty if I thought the Feds were serious about actually doing something serious about the borders. Since they won’t, the issue is a non-starter with me. I would’ve hung up based on his performance at the recent DADT hearings too.
PatriotPartner suggested that I should have said, “Hey dope — I’m just unpacking from my trip to CPAC. So you should know why I’m not giving McCain a bloody red cent.”
He needs to retire and have a nice life in Phoenix before he gets beaten by JD.
While I’ve had many quarrels with McCain over the years, the delimma we in AZ have is that JD is a loudmouthed big government homophobe. AZ CD 8 is the most republican district in AZ, yet the good folks in this district voted him out in favor of Dem Harry Mitchell, who although saying he’s a “blue dog” has consistently voted with Obama/Pelosi. We need a better choice in this district and state
I always feel bad for those poor sods that have to do any kind of cold calling.
Well, I actually liked McCain’s immigration plan. There I said it.
I’m with Nathan. I can’t bear to be rude to someone whose job already sucks.
But I’m also with Bruce. McCain’s Immigration Plan was a sham: Amnesty first, enforcement later… maybe. How’s that virtual fence working out?
