You would think that community organizers would be all over domestic violence, addiction, rotten schools, creating safe streets and manning shelters.

If they themselves didn’t support physical violence, use drugs to purchase votes, need a constant supply of illiterate and untrained idiots, threats against people and businesses who disagree with them, and total dependence on the government, you might be right.

Just to be a jerk, I will ask this question about domestic violence: Why isn’t it a prime concern of community organizers and ACORN? You would think that community organizers would be all over domestic violence, addiction, rotten schools, creating safe streets and manning shelters.

I am always amazed at how many people stroke a check to the Salvation Army, but rail against their “fundamentalist dogma.” Isn’t it passing strange that opening one’s wallet is a worthy substitute for getting down in the trenches with the problem and doing the hard work?

But the libs don’t even open their wallets (in comparison to conservative charitable donations), they vote for the government to open everybody’s wallet.

So this is Obama’s America. Men unleashed to beat their women. There aren’t enough shelters to house the abused women in Obamas America.
Not the hope n change so many had hoped for.
Where are the jobs Mr President? Where is the lazer focus on jobs. Today another badge of courage for Mr Obama. Record low number of new home sales. Record high unemployed. No hope. Yes the leader of the Senate has brought the abuse to the forefront. But where is the President begging men not to beat their women? Shouldn’t the President address the nation bringing national attention to this debacle? Obamas America. How very very sad.

I’m not told anything by ‘these same people’, I’m not a US national, nor a current US resident. Incidentally, my lesbian mother has been threatened and assaulted by previous female partners, while I was a minor in her custody, so i’m very aware of the ability of women to be just as sadistic, violent and cruel to people they are supposed to care about as men.
The jokes are in poor taste, and unbalance the debate. There are real problems in the provision of domestic violence support services, problems that have been exasperated by the recession. A federal jobs bill is not the answer to this unless the jobs are in womens shelters that have been forced to cut staff and benefits because of reduced state spending, and I dont know if thats the case. To joke about it, though, seems like a denial of an actual problem, and I don’t agree with that.

I don’t agree exactly with Reids direct connection between jobs and domestic violence, but are you saying that you don’t think that the recession has resulted in an increase in domestic violence?

and you’re making jokes about violence against women to mock a political opponent? I mean, it’s your blog, but from where i’m sitting, it doesn’t make you look good.
