Odd how Government spending, no matter how wasteful, is always supposed to be good for the community.

I have a feeling that’s because the vast and overwhelming majority of “the community” are one of two things:

a) Welfare addicts who live off the state
b) Obama Party members who, like their heroes Rangel, Geithner, Sebelius, and others, don’t pay their taxes and depend on their minority status and party connections to keep the IRS and FTB at bay.

Odd how massive tax increases never “threaten the health of our community.” Odd how Government spending, no matter how wasteful, is always supposed to be good for the community.

And yet, Serenity, what the hell does the level of government spending have to do with equality? Dan is right that this group is acting as a shill for the Democrat Party because whether I pay more in taxes or less, whether there are more government programs or less, etc., NONE of this has squat to do with equality or ANYTHING to do with my being gay. Groups like Equality California need to drop the talking points for the DNC Agenda and get back to what they founded for. Look, I don’t even care if they take views on “gay issues” that I disagree with because at least if they stuck to just those matters that would give them some credibility as being a legit advocate for their cause instead of a partisan hack for the DNC.

If “equality” means greater government regulation of our lives, then it’s not what I seek nor what most gay people really want.

This is what Wikipedia refers to as ‘weasel words’. Where are you getting ‘most gay people’ from? I don’t have any figures to hand (I’m not sure there are any) but I thought it was common knowledge that the majority of gay people vote for the Democrats and that the reason groups like Equality California don’t even try to hide their agenda is because people like yourself are a minority within a minority.

None of this really addresses whether you’re right or wrong on the fundamental principles here (reality is not decided by popular vote) but it seems damaging to your argument to claim majority support where you almost certainly don’t have it.
