House Minority Leader: “We’ll repeal this.”
In an exclusive for NRO (Does that mean I’m not allowed to quote from it?), Rep. John Boehner (R, OH, I hope he can pull this out!) promises that if he’s “lucky enough” to get the Speakership after an anticipated Republican take-over as a result of the passage of the Stalinization of Health Care Act of 2010, he’ll work to repeal this monstrosity.
That is nice to hear, Congressman Boehner. And anticipating what you’d do if you get “lucky” with your future position is bold. How about you apply more of those chops to ensuring the bill doesn’t pass in the first place?

Once this entitlement is passed won’t it be nearly impossible to repeal?

Hmmm, I guess he must be hoping that the Republicans win 20 new Senate seats, and that Obama and Biden both resign. I don’t think I’d be taking him all that seriously if I was youse guys.
Comment by Tano — March 18, 2010 @ 7:44 pm - March 18, 2010
Just more incentive to defeat Obama in 2012 and repeal this before it kicks in.
Comment by B. Daniel Blatt — March 18, 2010 @ 7:47 pm - March 18, 2010
Oh yeah. That’s right. It doesn’t kick in for 4 years once it’s passed. Even though we start paying for it immediately. Ten years of taxes; six years of coverage.

I love that Stalinization word. Makes me warm and fuzzy that Republicans so cling to the idea of communism.
By the way….have you all noticed that through the calculated mis-steps by the revered business leaders of this country, we’ve become a debtor nation to the largest communist country on the planet?

Actually, through the missteps of our government, who actually incurs the debt and sells the bonds to finance it, we’ve become a debtor nation to the largest communist country on the planet.
Private companies don’t sell government bonds. The government does. We know that Obama puppets like yourself cannot hold your token or his government to any level of accountability, but truly, your willingness to beclown yourself for Teh One is breathtaking.

And even the ChiComms are pissed that Chairman Obama is spending trillions on deck chairs for the Titanic.
Comment by ThatGayConservative — March 18, 2010 @ 9:18 pm - March 18, 2010
Fixed it for ya, Kevin. (Hint: Check the trillions in debt that the Democrats have added since they took control of the purse strings in 2007.)

Whoops, should have continued reading the thread first. NDT and TGC did fine.

“Youse guys”, guess that means us, huh Tano. I hope you brace yourself for November 2, when “Youse guys” take back this country. You think we might pick up 40 seats in the house? Try 140 you idiot and yeah, it looks real possible that we take the senate back too. Get your head out of your butt and get real.
Comment by John in Dublin, CA — March 18, 2010 @ 9:53 pm - March 18, 2010
John,
As far as who has their head up their butt – all I am saying is the obvious. You will not repeal this bill unless you win the House, the White House, and at least 60 senators (probably you’ll need a few more than that).
Y’know this obstruction game can work both ways….
Thats all I said – obvious facts. No predictions even….
And you think y’all are going to win 140 House seats and take back the Senate????
I won’t waste our time dredging up polls and the like – but I’ll just point to Intrade – where people put money behind their opinions. Currently the bid on Reps taking the House (that means winning 41 seats) is less than 50. GOP control of the Senate is in the teens.
You might be able to make a killing if you put some money where you mouth is. Or you might seriously damage your large intestines….one or the other.

Question..DO you all really think that the monies raised from the increase in taxes will actually be used for this crap …I have a really bad feeling about it….just wonderin…

“we’ll repeal this.” I just love how the Republicans treat having a Democratically controlled House, Senate and White House as some kind of odd blip on the radar of their own manifest destiny. Guess what: both parties will continue to go in and out of power…some for a longer stay, some for a shorter stay. As we’ve seen since 94, republicans are either sore winners or sore losers, take your pick. How’s that eternal flame just outside of DC holdin’ up for ya?
8: Sorry, but our indebtedness to China didn’t begin 3 years ago. Don’t forget the seeds for our economic decline were sown back to the 90s and accelerated for the 6 years Republicans controlled congress and the White House. Even reasonable Republicans/Conservative don’t deny that one.
Comment by Kevin — March 18, 2010 @ 11:45 pm - March 18, 2010
Guess, Kevin, you also love just how the House is passing this, with payoffs and procedural shenanigans.
And it will be an elected Republican House and Senate which repeal this.
Comment by B. Daniel Blatt — March 19, 2010 @ 12:07 am - March 19, 2010
I won’t waste our time dredging up polls and the like
Of course you won’t, because they point out your failure.
Again, Tano, are you burning records yet? No worries; we already are tracking how “government contractors” like yourself are propagandizing in direct violation of Federal law. You might want to think about what is more important — staying out of Federal prison or protecting your Obama.

Don’t forget the seeds for our economic decline were sown back to the 90s and accelerated for the 6 years Republicans controlled congress and the White House.
I love it when the infantile Obama tries this excuse.
The latest posting from the Treasury Department shows the National Debt has increased over $2 trillion since President Obama took office.
The debt now stands at $12.6 trillion. On the day Mr. Obama took office it was $10.6 trillion.
And it gets better.
In the 2011 federal budget released last month, the administration projects the National Debt will soar ever upward to over $25 trillion in the year 2020. The total debt will amount to more than 100 percent of the national economy as early as 2012.
Of course, Kevin will never under any circumstances criticize that.
Comment by North Dallas Thirty — March 19, 2010 @ 12:56 am - March 19, 2010
You mean – the Clinton years?
Fixed it for ya again, Kevin.
Comment by ILoveCapitalism — March 19, 2010 @ 12:57 am - March 19, 2010
How about at least “dredging up” the poll in NEJM showing how many doctors will bail on the profession if ObamaCareless passes? You know, the same one in which 55% of doctors believe our quality of care will decline? Or will the messiah take their place as Healer in Chief?
I hate how liberals treat our constitution as something to wipe with and hand it back to the people.
Comment by ThatGayConservative — March 19, 2010 @ 3:59 am - March 19, 2010
Seems to me we could “deem” a liberal defeat and an Obama impeachment. Sounds fair?
Comment by ThatGayConservative — March 19, 2010 @ 4:03 am - March 19, 2010
Ooops. One more:
Surely you can name them? By all means drop some names. I mean, liberal douchebags keen on diverting attention from their economic FAILs keep repeating that same mantra, but never seem to be able to name any. Just as the Douchebag in Chief loves to say that even Conservatives say that you have to spend your way out of his depression, yet never seems able to provide any names.
Why is that? Please feel free to educate and enlighten us.
Comment by ThatGayConservative — March 19, 2010 @ 4:26 am - March 19, 2010
Here is how the plan works: We all “work” for each other according to our ability. (I have no ability, but that is OK because others have more than they need.) We each get what we need. (I need pampering. But others are so into the ability part that they generate plenty of extra that can be sluffed off for pampering me.) There are no taxes, no wars, no bills. We provide for one another and what is yours is mine. (What is mine, I need, so keep your hands off of it.)
There. No more evil business barons ruining the economy. Only the noble government leader who selflessly walks with me and talks with me and takes top quality care of me.

“How about at least “dredging up” the poll in NEJM showing how many doctors will bail on the profession if ObamaCareless passes?”
You mean the “poll” that the NEJM did NOT publish – but was an unscientific email survey done by a private medical recruitment firm – done as part of their own marketing efforts for their services? LINK
My gawd you guys can be so easily conned…
Comment by Tano — March 19, 2010 @ 11:11 am - March 19, 2010
And of course, Tano posts the talking points of the Obama Party, repeated by paid Obama minions, as “fact”.
That’s typical. Tano can provide no independent sources or corroboration, just Obama talking points provided by an Obama-paid organization.
How foolish and easily manipulated this Tano is.

My gawd you’re a fucking tool. You can’t address my points? And where’s the con, dumbass?
