Economists to Obama: PLEASE, NO!

March 19, 2010 by ColoradoPatriot

Proud to see no fewer than nine Economics professors, representing four of the Centennial State’s fine universities were among the 130 economists who signed on to this letter to Congress and President Obama arguing how the Stalinization of Health Care Act of 2010 will destroy the economy. A snipit:

In our view, the health care bill contains a number of provisions that will eliminate jobs, reduce hours and wages, and limit future job creation.
…
In addition to constricting economic growth and reducing employment, the health care bill will increase spending on health care and will increase the cost of health coverage. The new and higher taxes on America’s small businesses and workers included in the bill are detrimental to job creation and economic growth, especially now given the fragile state of the economy.

Given the lack of attention they’ve paid to us simple stupid constituents of theirs, what’s the chance they’ll take the word of experts?

Good points all, but where have they been for the past year? Also it would be good to hear what legislation would look like “that will reduce spending on health care, reduce the cost of health coverage for every American, and that does not harm the economy or cost jobs,” as they say in the conclusion of the letter.

After ObamaCare passes, the rest of the Democrat agenda just gets worse: Cap and Trade, Amnesty, and Tax Increases (when the Bush Tax Cuts are allowed to expire).

After this horrible, divisive effort to force the passage of an unpopular bill, what the Democrats would need… politically… is something popular to get behind, but there is nothing like that in their agenda. They think their “Jobs Bills” (a.k.a. “Stimulus Mk. II”) will win the public back, but they are more likely to be seen is ineffective deficit spending.

Worse, after Obama signs the bill, the Obamacrats *own* health care. Every failure of the system is their failure. And the thing about ObamaCare is, the taxes and mandates start immediately, driving up health care costs. The “benefits” don’t kick in until 2014.

Also, the Republicans have months to publicize the shady deals that went into the bill, and the bad stuff that’s in the bill.

And then, in the Fall, the Republicans get to run ads saying the Democrats have added a trillion dollars to the Deficit since passing “Pay As You Go.”

I do understand the Fauz Nuz and Republican Cults of Jesus Inc Talking Points that are spewed so venomously about but in reality this “Health Care Reform” is a patient’s bill of rights clamping regulation onto a monopolistic system focused on Wall Street dividends, multi-million dollar pay-out to principals and all off the backs of humans who have their trust and contractual agreements with the Insurance Company violated by denial of claims, recision and refusal to pay for life-saving treatments. The “death panels” sit in the board rooms.
Real Health Care reform begins with a Public Option, Medicare for all to provide direct competition.
There is no one coming between you and your doctor, your existing insurance coverage or your decisions to seek medical care. There is no rationing, no give-away to illegal immigrants and nothing to fear.
Break out your tin-foil hats and fasten your Dr Dentons because it is being voted in on Sunday.

How appropriate that “Kevin Andrews” trumpets “Fascist America” on the top of his blog.

There is no better description for the Obama administration and its supporters.

How can there not? It’s already happening everywhere it’s tried. It’s already happening in Medicare and Medicaid. Everything liberals touch turns to shit instantly, so why in the hell would this be any different?

I really appreciate Kevin Andrews’ points. He is an old fashioned communist in his thinking and those folks have laid out their plan for all to see for many years. Castro, with his huge infusions of USSR money managed to prove the communist dream can be realized if you are happy with participating in an economy that comes to a halt and then goes into reverse until there are only tents and occasional cans of Spam.

Kevin Andrews: You speak fondly of the health care reform because:

in reality this “Health Care Reform” is a patient’s bill of rights clamping regulation onto a monopolistic system focused on Wall Street dividends, multi-million dollar pay-out to principals and all off the backs of humans who have their trust and contractual agreements with the Insurance Company violated by denial of claims, recision and refusal to pay for life-saving treatments.

Obviously, you have no taste for the banking system, corporations, partnerships, stock capitalization, shared ownership, non cash savings, bonded indebtedness or any other form of credit coupled with interest payments.

You sound like a perfect candidate for Islam and the swell life styles and economies they have perfected.

However, I notice you do like heavy “regulation” of Wall Street, so maybe you are in fact willing to join the likes of Hitler, Mussolini, Allende and the other highly successful dictators who made the trains run on time and destroyed themselves and their economies in the process.

Just a question: After we fall flat on our faces, who will play the role America has so successfully played for Germany, Italy, Japan, etc. and rush in and pick us up?
