“I Told You So”s Can Start Forthwith…

March 23, 2010 by ColoradoPatriot

Well, It is Done.

President Obama signed his Stalinization of Health Care Act of 2010 to thunderous applause this morning, and in so doing, subjugated our Nation to third-world socialist state status for the ensuing future (unless, of course, we take it back).

Happy Dependence Day.

Oh, and hope you don’t have any problems that ever need cutting edge medical technology. Byron York lines out just one of many medical device companies who will, thanks to this historic legislation, basically be run out of business. Yay, progress!

Zoll is the nation’s leading manufacturer of heart defibrillators, which save thousands of heart attack victims each year
…
“We believe that the tax will cost us somewhere between $5 million and $10 million a year,” says Richard Packer, Zoll’s chairman and chief executive officer. “Our profit in 2009 was $9.5 million.”

Fortunately, however, thanks to Obamacare, we’ll all have equal access to the defibrillators that will not exist in the future.

You may recall after one Congressman was chided during a speech several times Sunday, whoever was presiding finally cautioned them to be “…mindful to the dignity of the House…”

    That’s like designating a red-light district as a “Crime-Watch Community”.

Anyone who doesn’t see what this is leading to is electively blind and purposefully indifferent (Now, there’s an oxymoron for you.)

    Here’s a couple more ITYS’s.

    – I said on this blog that even after Scott Brown’s victory, they’d still be making us eat the crap sandwich.

    – I didn’t know this next one until a couple days ago, but it may be an ITYS for someone else… There are no pro-life Democrats. Even if you are a Democrat and *think* or *claim* that you are pro-life: when the time comes to enact socialism, the peer pressure / temptation will be overwhelming and your pro-life so-called “convictions” will be flying out the window, not worth a pitcher of warm spit. You already made your choice, when you joined the Democrats. You just aren’t copping to it.

The device makers won’t go out of business right away. They will raise their prices to shift the cost on, then the insurers will raise their rates to cover the increased prices, then Congress will feign shock and blame the device makers and the insurers. And then we will have price controls, and then they will go out of business. And, of course, it won’t be the fault of the legislation.

Rush pointed out that the delay in coverage for the uninsured until 2014 will cost 180,000 people their lives (based on the Dems’ claims of 100+* people dying each day for want of coverage). *I don’t believe that number but there it is.

The next option is to cut research and development — a short-term, money-saving move that will surely cost Zoll down the road. And a third option, says Packer, is to “look at trying to shift jobs to lower-cost places around the world.” That would be bad news for Massachusetts and the USA.

This isn’t good news for my job search (which includes companies the produce high-tech life-saving equipment).

Another fine example of taxing excellence.

I understand the feeling. Heck now my job is on the line so Ash can have other people pay for him.

    Too big to fail??

I always preferred LifePak, but Zoll is good too.
