Obama Now As Unpopular As Bush Ever Was During His Entire 1st Term

The collateral damage of Obammunism is going to be enormous (and is already enormous). Reality will be a hard school for
the economically ignorantthe Democrats during the next financial crisis, the one that is effectively going to end His presidency. I don’t know if it is coming in 5 years or 5 weeks, but laughter is how we will get through it, I guess.Comment by ILoveCapitalism — April 1, 2010 @ 2:48 pm - April 1, 2010
Would be interesting to see how he would compare to Carter.

Oh wow. From the article you posted:
and
But since you seem to be of the opinion that a picture says a thousand words:
Obama’s approval rating almost exactly matches Reagan at the same point in his first term! A second term is, thus, surely a certainty.
Or, if that conclusion is too unsettling for you, how about we just agree that approval ratings at this point in a President’s term doesn’t really say anything about how they will be viewed by history?

Ah, the live preview allows code that the actual posts do not. That seems to be a rather severe usability issue. Anyway, picture says a thousand words.

and now Tony Perkins — “I’ve hinted at this before, but now I am saying it — don’t give money to the RNC. If you want to put money into the political process, and I encourage you to do so, give directly to candidates who you know reflect your values. Better yet, become a member of FRC Action and learn about the benefits it offers, including participating in the FRC Action PAC which can support candidates who will advance faith, family and freedom.” – Family Research Council head Tony Perkins, calling the religious right to cease funding the GOP because of their love for titty bars and fake lesbians in bondage. Whee!

That’s not at all surprising. The conservatives hate him reflexively no matter what he does, and liberals have been getting betrayed by obama since the primary season. I am firmly in the disapproval camp as are a large number of liberals, and our disapporval stems from him not being liberal enough. It goes back to one of the fundamental differences between the left and the right in this country; most liberals like their politicians that can talk and implement good policy, most conservatives like their politicians that can win. Politics is a game you guys play that let’s you taunt your supposed enemies and have all of your impulses validated, for the rest of us politics is about doing what is best for the country – and obama is not interested in that.

How funny, I was just playing with the same exact tool yesterday. And Joe, Obama’s trajectory is virtually an exact match of Jimmy Carter’s. To be fair, his trajectory also resembles Reagans at the beginning of his term, but before any delusional libs start thinking that means good things for Obama, remember that policies matter. Carter was unpopular and became even less popular, now remembered as a failed president because of what his policies did. Reagan was popular and is now remembered as a great president because of what his policies did.
Obama’s policies almost mirror Carter’s only with more deceit and corruption. Obama is the anti-Reagan.
He will be even less popular than Carter by 2012.

ROFLOL! When was the last time a Democrat president implemented good policy? Liberals LOVED Bill Clinton. What good policy did he implement? Citations please.
Says the victim who wants government to tell him that homosexuality is equal to heterosexuality. The lady doth PROJECT too much, me thinks. Your entire existence is defined by contradicting and opposing Republicans say and do, because they wont validate your “victimhood”
What did Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton do that was “best for the country”? Specifics please.

Seriously, how do you people not laugh at yourselves when you make ridiculous comments?
Comment by Bruce (GayPatriot) — April 1, 2010 @ 7:06 pm - April 1, 2010
And just what is it we’re supposed to love him for? Eroding freedom? Wiping with the constitution? Stealing money from the private sector? Government takeover of private companies? Dictating salaries? Fighting to keep DADT?
The oil drilling would be very praiseworthy. Nobody’s praising him because nobody believes it. Given the expiration dates on so many of his promises, there’s no reason to.
Comment by ThatGayConservative — April 1, 2010 @ 7:06 pm - April 1, 2010
Whats most striking about this Chart is shows just how much Obama has accomplished in just a short amount of time.
He has taken the fight to Al Queda in Afghanistan
Passed reform a broken health – Something presidents have been trying to do since Truman!!!
Negotiated a reduction of Nukes
Helped stimulate our economy from the brink of collapse to stability
Passed a tax cut for 90% of Americans
Stepped up the killing of Terrorists in Pakistan
Now he is reforming our banking system.
In my mind the only bad thing Obama has done is inherit a 1 Trillion deficit and made it worse.
Hopefully the economy will continue to improve, job growth spikes and the dems can stay in power for another 8-12 more years.
Comment by gillie — April 1, 2010 @ 10:09 pm - April 1, 2010
The oil drilling is in places where the bulk of the oil is not.
The reason why the ‘Clinton’ economy is praised, is because he had a republican congress who made it so. As far as his policies, we paid for those dearly on 9/11, not to mention the selling of the Lincoln bedroom and the pay-offs to the Chicoms and assorted flotsam.
Comment by Annie — April 1, 2010 @ 10:13 pm - April 1, 2010
Gillie, he took a half-trillion deficit from Bush and quadrupled it.
He took over the car companies.
He took over student loans.
He took over the healthcare industry.
He took over the banking.
He took over the mortgage industry.
Now tell me, what qualifies any of the crooks in DC, who have not had a real job in their entire lives, to run any of those industries? What makes them smarter to tell me how to live my life? Why should the many serve the few?
I’m left with no choice and that is how tyrannical crooks prefer it.
Comment by Annie — April 1, 2010 @ 10:18 pm - April 1, 2010
A better question to you on the left, why do want rulers? Why do you need a ruler to tell you how to live your life?
Now that the boy king has taken over so many industries, there will be no choice, no competition for the best price and service. Nothing but mediocrity at best. Nothing but what little Barry and his brownshirts tell you what you can have.
The government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take everything you have.
Get on your knees serenity and gillie. From the way you speak, you must like it there.
Comment by Annie — April 1, 2010 @ 10:25 pm - April 1, 2010
uh, brainiac, its been there since 2001, when Bush and Cheney took it there. But no one can deny Obama does love to take credit for things he didnt do!
And something Americans have been fighting and resisting for nearly a century! And still are!
ROFLOL! He took the problems that caused the collapse and doubled down on them. He has put our economy in more peril than EVER. The US is about to lose its AAA bond rating for the first time in history. Warren Buffet is now considered a safer investment than the United States thanks to Barack Obama. Underemployment has been at and over 20% for months and leading economists are predicting recovery from Obamas policies will take a decade, two decades or MORE. Obama is already the Worst president EVER
No, he passed a tiny rebate for people who dont pay taxes, which is already done and over. A tax cut — not that you would know this since you dont pay taxes, but a tax cut means a permanent cut in the rate of taxation. Obama did no such thing. He has now RAISED taxes by enormous amounts on ALL Americans and plans to raise them more.
But it is excellent to see you admit that tax cuts are a good thing. We will remember that.
Now hes out to seize control of the parts of the banking industry which he has not already seized.
Obama is the dictionary definition of a Fascist.
Comment by American Elephant — April 1, 2010 @ 11:01 pm - April 1, 2010
I would say he saved the banking industry, car industry and frankly brought our economy out from the brink of collapse.
Even Ford admits that if GM was not helped, they would have to declare bankruptcy. Most of the major banks say the same. You can say he “took over” the health care industry but frankly its not too different than the plan that Mitt Romney passed.
I too am pissed that banks got special treatment and they better get used to regulation because of the help they got, but there is no doubt that Obama helped stopped a major collapse.
Further, I suspect that you only dislike a “ruler” who leads from the left. I don’t remember many of you squawking when civil liberties were taken away by Bush and while Cheney shredded the constitution.
Comment by gillie — April 1, 2010 @ 11:04 pm - April 1, 2010
AE –
To suggest that a law that attempts to make health care available for everyone is”fascist” shows that you need to take a break, read some books that are not political and learn some more.
Its kind of like when a High School sophomore uses the word “society” over and over.
It sounds good, and kind of makes it seem like you have a viewpoint, but really you are just regurgitating what your English teacher told you to say.

“Obama is the dictionary definition of a Fascist.”
Then by your dictionary, so was Bush II, Clinton, Bush I, Regan, Carter, Nixon, LBJ, Kennedy, and on and on and on

I would say he saved the banking industry, car industry and frankly brought our economy out from the brink of collapse.
Of course you would. And you would be wrong, because your statement is based not on facts, but on Obama’s skin color and political affiliation.
Even Ford admits that if GM was not helped, they would have to declare bankruptcy. Most of the major banks say the same.
And of course, you provide no links, no proof, only the words of someone who bases their statement, not on facts, but on Obama’s skin color and political affiliation.
You can say he “took over” the health care industry but frankly its not too different than the plan that Mitt Romney passed.
And you opposed Mitt Romney and criticized his plan. So you admit that you support and endorse health care plans based, not on what they are, but on skin color and political affiliation.
I too am pissed that banks got special treatment and they better get used to regulation because of the help they got, but there is no doubt that Obama helped stopped a major collapse.
No, you’re not. In fact, you and your worthless Barney Fag supported and endorsed handing out money to corrupt criminal banks and forcing regulators to stop enforcing the rules against them — again, based on skin color and political affiliation.
The last is proof of what a hypocrite you are, gillie. John Lewis and the Congressional Black Caucus supported this criminal bank, demanded that regulators allow it to break the law, and ordered the Federal government to prop it up so that they would make money. You said John Lewis, who supported this, was a “great American”.
That’s four times that it’s been proven that you are a racist and a bigot, gillie. Add in your screaming fit of a few days ago that the Tennessee state flag was a “neo-Nazi” symbol, and it should be obvious to anyone that you have nothing intelligent to add to a conversation and are little more than a talking-points repeater for your idiot Obama.
Comment by North Dallas Thirty — April 2, 2010 @ 2:55 am - April 2, 2010
Gilltard,
Yes, you are a part of a fascistic movement. And being a liberal regressive you are also completely ignorant of what fascism means. (not to mention history, economics, biology and just about everything else it seems) Allow me to educate you:
Now lets break that down.
1. No one can credibly deny that regressives favor dictatorial government. They want to control everything we do from how we drive to what we eat, to what health care we can and cannot have, what foods we can and cannot eat, what we can and cannot do with our own property, they have and are attempting to dictate costs, profits, wages, prices, activities, speech, property use, what you can and cannot teach your own children, what light bulbs you can buy, what kinds of cars you can buy, what radio stations can and cannot say., and on and on and on and on.
2. There can be no serious argument against the fact that regressives, Obama and Democrats want centralized control of industry. They have already seized the auto industry, the student loan industry, the finance industry, the health industry and are now working, as they have threatened openly before, to seize the rest of the energy industry.
3. Obama is a case study in trying to repress opposition. During his campaign he had his lawyers threaten TV and radio stations if they played ads opposing him that he didn’t like. He also had his lawyers threaten donors who gave to organizations opposing him. he formed a “truth squad” of corrupt district attorneys and others which he used to try to intimidate opposition. In previous campaigns he had corrupt judges unseal the divorce records of his opponents so he could clear the opposition from the playing field rather than actually having to win an honest race.
Two black panthers thugs were all but convicted of trying to oppress the opposition vote, until Obama had the case dropped for no possible good reason. His union thugs are on video tape at events all across the country roughing up citizens who oppose the Obama agenda, including beating a black man and putting him in the hospital, biting the fingers off another, and all sort of other violence and intimidation
Now that he is president he is attempting to enact by the recess appointment of his crooked union lawyer the card check measures that he could not get past congress even with a super majority, so that his criminal jack booted union thugs can intimidate Americans into accepting unions they overwhelmingly do not want.
One of the first things he began working on as president was the oppression of conservative talk radio. He initially planned to bring back the “fairness” doctrine — but only apply it to conservative radio, until that became politically unpopular, he is now working on achieving the same ends by having his administration investigating requiring “ethnic diversity” in broadcast licensing — but again, ONLY of conservative talk radio stations. he is also investigating “local control” laws which would take away conservative talk radio by requiring that local boards, and not the free market, would dictate what radio stations could have as their content.
And lets not forget his war on Fox News, Where he attempted to repress the opposition by trying to get other news organizations to ostracize Fox News, by saying they werent a real news organization, and then by refusing Fox access to people in his administration.
And then there is the Alinsky treatment of Americans opposing him in the Tea Party movement.
Not to mention his attempts to take away the very democratic voices of t opposition by his corrupt handling of the Census… bringing it into the White House, having the convicted vote fraud felons at ACORN handling it (until a prostitution sting finally exposed that intrinsically corrupt organization in ways that nationwide vote-fraud convictions couldn’t)
4. Indeed, the ONLY part of the definition of Fascism that does not directly and exactly define the Regressive movement, the Democrats and Obama is the nationalism. Democrats hate America and always have. They do not want the freedom that made America great, they want the so called “security” of dictatorial mommy government promising to take care of them, and provide for them, and wipe their bottoms from cradle to grave, if only they will sacrifice all their choices, freedoms, and opportunities.
The same socialist command and control policies that CAUSED the economic disaster in the first place. The same brave new world utopian ignorance that had Fannie and Freddy telling banks to go out and loan to people who were bad credit risks as much as they want, because the government would get their back are the same policies that Obama is installing in each new industry he seizes.
But it was never nationalism that made Fascism dangerous. It was the dictatorial ideals that embodies so-called “progressivism.” The godlike delusion that you have a right to dictate to others. The belief that people are yours to control. That has always been what makes Fascism evil and it is the thing that so-called “progressives” with every evil regime in history.
they are also the very same beliefs that conservatism, and our nation’s founding principles, reject at their very core.
you are an ignorant rube. get a f*cking clue.
You better get used to regulation of your body and everything you do with and to it, because the government is now paying for that too!
Yes, the WORST thing that can happen to a business is for its competitors to go out of business. Sorry, I call bullshit. Please provide the quotes from Ford and the banks with links and sources.
Unfortunately you are correct. It has many similarities to that system that is currently bankrupting Massachusetts. And the fact that he refuses to say he was wrong is one reason Mitt Romney will never be president of the United States. But you regressives really dont understand the Constitution or our system of government do you? You really dont get that states are not just the underlings of the federal government.
But that brings up an excellent point. If socialized medicine is so excellent, why cant the states enact it? there isnt a state in the country that doesnt have a big enough population or big enough GDP to enact it. Hell, most states have higher GDPs than European countries that have socialized medicine. Why does the federal government have to dictate to the states?
Other than of course the very dictatorial, fascistic nature of progressives?
There is no doubt among mind-numbed regressive sponges who believe what they are told to believe. Most serious economists think Obama has had almost no effect except that he is making things far, far worse.
yeah, thats because that is the side on which totalitarianism resides. I would also dislike a leader if he were so far right as to be anarchist, because that doesnt work either. But yes, I prefer to err on the side of liberty not tyranny.
That’s because no such thing ever happened.
Mmm, nope. You see, unlike you, I actually understand the meanings of the words I use.

Nope, by liberal logic. As Mark Davis pointed out the liberal “logic”:
Now, could you answer the question instead of going off in some bullshit other direction? Doesn’t it bother you that people in these countries, who’s health care we’re supposed to emulate, A) get shitty care and 2) pay out the arse in taxes?
I really would like to know why you think it’s acceptable for Americans to get shitty care AND have to get buried in debt to pay for it.

gillie, you have suddenly morphed into a neo-pseudo-intellectual shill. WOW! I am startled. I thought you were just imitation mayonnaise and now I discover you actually have a touch of flavor. Good on you!
As AE pointed out, that was GW in 2001
Actually, it goes back to Teddy Roosevelt. Obama won. Who was he fighting? The people. They are not happy. What does it mean when you fight a war, win and the losers are the people? Now he is desperately flitting from staged group to staged group trying to convince the people that his medicine is the real thing and they will all be better for taking it. Him one bold medicine man.
Standard operating procedure since Kennedy. But, the proof is in the pudding. Let’s see how he handles North Korea and Iran where the game counts the most.
Well, now, if that is a “plus” point, how come he hasn’t taken his economic brilliance to spending the bulk of the stimulus and ending the job hemorrhaging? You can not support this claim with facts. It is pure hype born of adulation.
Oh, my! Show me the money. Just because you say it over and over does not make it true. How do you give a tax cut to 90% when only 50% pay taxes?
We are at war in Pakistan? When did we invade Pakistan? How is this different from bombing the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Cambodia? How do you rail at Bush over Iraq and give Obama kudos for invading Pakistan? I would love to see your logic on this one.
Oh? Since we are all intimately tied to our banking system, would you please give us the three most important reforms in his plan? Will it be open and transparent and on C-SPAN or will we have to wait until the bill is finally rammed through to learn what is in it?
WRONG! He ran for office to take on the burdens on the desk when he walked into the Oval Office and to move forward. This “inherit” mantra is loser talk. Furthermore, you might be a tad distressed about how far he has skyrocketed a bad deficit problem and grown it like a weed on steroids.
Nice use of the theme of “Hopenchange.” When your team is shooting blanks and there is a soaring deficit and pernicious joblessness and rising underemployment and continued unprecedented foreclosures and commercial real estate showing signs of impending collapse and the printing presses dumping out funny money and bonds being sold from the right hand to the left hand of the government ………. “hope” might be your answer.
My answer is change.

Actually, since Barney Fag says his policies, his corruption, his criminal behavior, and his racism are all due to his being gay, you can’t separate the two.
Furthermore, gillie, we notice that you refused to condemn Fag and Maxine Waters for their behavior based on their skin color and sexual orientation. You are a racist and a bigot. You have got me to thinking. Liberals are the most unhappy, griping bunch of sour pusses I know. That makes me wonder if “gay” liberal is not an oxymoron.
