ObamaDude, Where’s My Free Health Care Yo?

April 7, 2010 by GayPatriot

UPDATE:  Weird!  Nick and I were channeling each other today…. I wrote this post first thing in the AM, then the ‘puter crashed.  But I think it is a nice compliment to Nick’s post on the same subject.

============

Since we have a President who has a chronic habit of over-promising and under-delivering, I’m surprised this sentiment has taken so long to bubble up!

Two weeks after President Barack Obama signed the big health care overhaul into law, Americans are struggling to understand how — and when — the sweeping measure will affect them.

Questions reflecting confusion have flooded insurance companies, doctors’ offices, human resources departments and business groups.

“They’re saying, ‘Where do we get the free Obama care, and how do I sign up for that?’ ” said Carrie McLean, a licensed agent for eHealthInsurance.com. The California-based company sells coverage from 185 health insurance carriers in 50 states.

As part of the paying-takes-most-of-my-time job, I have to read up on the new healthcare law.  There are some things I am still discovering and one provision in particular (yep, a new payroll TAX that the MSM and White House haven’t mentioned) that I’ll be writing about shortly.

Remember, this is what Obama voters asked for:  Free mortgages, free healthcare, free child care.  There are many one-on-one stories told to me personally of Obama voters who expected just that.   The other majority Obama voters — you know — the fawning yoot and the $250,000< earners — are the ones PAYING for the free stuff expectation.  Talk about self-loathing!

    Let’s see….compulsary health insurance payments, higher income taxes and business taxes and fees; and Volcker’s now pressing for a nation-wide VAT to close the deficit.

    The only thing “free” I see is the Federal Gov’mint making-free with my wallet.

    We were talking healthcare approval ratings earlier, and I just realized something that I missed back then. Average lines in opinion poll scatter graphs are based not just on the polls at the specific point on which the line falls, but also polls shortly before and after that point. This means that the end of the line, falling on the present, is necessarily less accurate and more prone to sudden fluctuation due to being based purely on past and present polls.

    Long story short, I made good on my promise to keep watching those approval ratings, and the dip you were talking about has suddenly vanished thanks to some more positive results that have arrived in the last few days. The overall opinion is undeniably negative, but there seems to currently be little movement either way.

    What does it say about the mentality who actually believes they can get something for nothing? Actually calling insurance company asking for free insurance?? This bill has nothing to do with access to medical care. This is about turning the middle class, who by way will be taxed to oblivion to finance other peoples medical care, into serfs. I resent this.

    Here’s a great analogy for the socialism we see creeping into our free-market, individual-freedom, system:

    An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama’s socialism worked, and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich — a great equalizer. The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama’s plan”. All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade, so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.

    After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset, and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less, and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too, so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F. The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings, and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
