The original was better. Both of them.

I’ll see it when it’s free.
That’s Bad News Bears when cheesy stop-action animation beats 3D.

You may say Cheesy but Harryhausen was an artist at the stop motion field.

We saw it last Sunday. It is definitely a cheapie-theater flick. We agree the earlier ones were better; and Harryhausen IS the premier of his field. The present-day technology use for CGI, etc, notwithstanding… I thought many of the actors seemed bored and lowkey for such an action/adventure venue. It’s as though Mr. Neeson was done with his Saturday gardening and just decided to ‘help out’ on a film a buddy was shooting or something…

Well said, Liveware, very well said. Harryhausen was a true artist who influenced Lucas, Spielberg and Peter Jackson. Cheesy perhaps, but his movies are still watchable.

As I said on Facebook, anything is better with Maggie Smith.

I DO say cheesy with affection.
