President Bowing Obama Is At It Again [BUMPED]

April 13, 2010 by Bruce Carroll

UPDATE: Obama rudely points his finger at Canada’s PM, but bows to ChiComs.  What’s wrong with this guy?  Does our President have any understanding at all of history or any sense of loyalty or protocol?  Does Obama, as Roger L. Simon has suggested lately, have some mental health issues?

Oh wait… bowing to Communists — maybe Obama DOES have a sense of loyalty…

Why does Obama hate being the American President so much?

Honestly, Obama bowing to an Asian leader wouldn’t bother me if the Asian leader also bowed. When I was in Japan, I routinely bowed to Japanese, who also bowed back. It was part of the culture. I considered myself an unofficial ambassador of the US, so I wanted to show respect to the culture. HOWEVER, when Obama bows and the Chinese leader doesn’t, Obama is showing deference, which is bad. He should have learned the first time this happened.

Okay GayPatriots, start posting some new articles to push this embarrassment off your front page. This is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen.

I know Levi. Obama is embarrassing as our President, isn’t he?

    Glad you agree.

Please Mr. President, stop bowing to every Asian foreign leader that you meet. I realize that you want to be respectful of their culture but in our culture, we do not bow. Bowing is a sign of weakness to Asians, the lower you bow, the weaker you are. Hu JinTao didn’t appear to bow to you. Maybe the pictures I saw didn’t show his response.

However, bowing is not becoming of our supreme military commander and not becoming of the leader of the free world. I have worked and lived in Asia for many of my adult years and studied Mandarin and Chinese culture for more than 20 years. This is not helpful to our image but shows that we either don’t understand the custom or we feel our place is below theirs.

I have great respect for your office but bowing as you have on more than one occasion now is lessening that respect that others around the world have for you, your office, and our country.

I know you hope to change our enemies’ minds so that they believe that we are nice people and are only trying to help. But this is not the way. Our enemies will only laugh at your bowing as either a gaff or as a sign of your weakness making us a bigger target for aggression.

Just shake their hand. That’s the American way to greet people–even important people. The Chinese will not be offended.

I hope that your meetings in Asia are successful and that you are able to help our nation out of the multiple crises we face.

    Best regards,

    Mike

Yes, your black token is an embarrassment, isn’t he, Levi?

Perhaps in the future you’ll start judging by the content of character rather than skin color, and you won’t end up with situations like this where your Obama makes you look utterly foolish for supporting him simply because he is black.

  9. American Elephant says

    April 12, 2010 at 9:35 pm - April 12, 2010

Obama is a Marxist. Of course he bows down to the leader of the worlds biggest communist nation. The same reason he backed the unconstitutional coup attempt by the commie in Honduras. The same reason he has treated most of our allies like crap — he deeply reveres Communism and loathes freedom and loathes the United States of America and everything we stand for. That’s why he said just today that he is taking steps to vastly improve our democracy when the only thing he has done is seize control of industry after industry. He is the most radical, un-American president in American history.

Hey, if you’re proud of this kind of nonsense, go right ahead. You’ll attract lots of new recruits to the GOP when people start seeing this high caliber quality of discourse.

Back when Obama was subjugating himself to the Saudis, and I believe I might have had these conversations with people on this very blog, one of the thing that Republicans would say was that bowing to Asians might be okay because that’s their culture, but in the Arab world a bow only means submission. The suggestion was that people wouldn’t be criticizing Obama if he had bowed to an Asian leader, but here we are a year later, and Obama has slightly bent his neck at a 45 degree angle in the direction an Asian leader, and so Obama hates being the President, as well as being American. Right ….

And again, Bush did the kissing/holding hands/sword dance thing with some sultan on American soil, and while doing that for a good twenty minutes is totally acceptable to the GOP, a split second head nod towards another leader proves that Obama is shopping control of the United States to other governments. Right….

Yes, yes, analysis like this is why the Republican brand is in such tip-top shape these days. Everybody loves the Republicans, because Republicans are the ones that make sure that the President doesn’t break some mysterious, unspoken, coded etiquette that only they know or care about. Where would we be without Republicans covering Presidential greetings in such detail and with such sober-mindedness? You’re doing God’s work, gentlemen.

Mr. Obama is truly embarrasing to all of us. Americans established two centuries ago that we bow to no one, except God. He is the head of state and of government. As head of state, the president is equal to all other heads of state and must never indicate otherwise, including bowing.
Now North Dallas, PLEASE forego your all-too often remarks about Blacks. Obama is an embarrasment because of who he is and what he does, not because he’s black, and I regret your comments about Blacks are also embarrasing.

Now North Dallas, PLEASE forego your all-too often remarks about Blacks.

I said nothing about “blacks” as a group. I said that Obama was a “black token”, which he is, an example of how the Obama Party and its adherents make their decisions on the basis of skin color rather than content of character, which is true, and that Levi supported Obama regardless of what Obama does because Obama is black, which is also true.

When I say “All black people are x”, then I will be happy to take criticism of the fact. But for now, I will continue to call out the racism of Barack Obama and the Obama Party’s racist beliefs, regardless of color.

Where is the White House or State Department protocol officer?

It’s wrong when Pres. Obama kowtows to Oriental potentates, as much as it was wrong when former Pres. Bush sucked-up to the Saudis royals. It’s not even a mutual-nod between equals…Pres. Obama isn’t even maintaining eye-contact. Shameful.

“Was it just a one way bow….really?”

Based on the video clip I saw, it was definitely a one way bow. From my (albeit maybe misinformed) understanding of protocol, not only should the Chinese leader have bowed FIRST, he should have bowed lower, too. This was on American soil.

(And no, I don’t support the leader of the free world showing deference to any other leader at any time. Respect, yes. Deference, NO. If that’s American “arrogance”, I embrace it.)

It’s another indication of how Obama sees the world. He is far more sophisticated and intelligent than a “bitter clinger” like me, so he is unabashedly contemptuous of my conservative ideology. And he is clearly awed and humbled to be in the presence of the leader of the greatest nation on earth — Red China.

Obama is not that stupid to continually exhibit behavior he knows irritates his fellow countrymen (maybe we’re his fellow countrymen, who knows for sure). But he does have a snarky side to his personality that thinks it’s funny to demonstrate just how contemptuous he can be towards people he feels superior to. In this case, it’s us, the average American he holds in contempt. It doesn’t matter to him that he’s sending the wrong signal to the Chinese because it’s the Americans that he’s focusing on. He has a dangerous personality that God help us, might get many of us killed.

    Yup, we are.

Problem is, Levi, because you voted on the basis of skin color versus the content of character, you have to support Obama regardless of whatever stupid and idiotic thing he does.

Instead of being a man and admitting your racism made you make a bad decision, you now attack people who point out the idiocy of your choice.

God forbid Obama actually treat foreign leaders with respect and dignity instead of arrogance.

As long as they’re good socialists and leftists who believe in dictatorial power like Chavez and Castro, versus those Jews or evil British colonialists who Obama hates and blames for all the world’s problems, just like his leftist mentors Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers taught him.

How much respect and dignity did Obama show the Special Olympics when he appeared on The Tonight Show? Making fun of the “differently enabled,” as the Leftists gingerly call them, is really, really low.

I show respect and dignity to someone by smiling and looking them in the eye when I shake their hand, not bowing to them.
