Death of Another Kid from Laramie, Wyoming

Thanks to VtheK for the tip.  I believe this story speaks for itself.

The death, of an AIDS-related illness, of a 25-year-old barebacking porn star is the latest twist in several episodes that have roiled the adult entertainment industry in recent years.

Chad Noel’s March 17 death was reported on at GayPornGossip on March 26. The posting read, “Chad Noel age 25, a former ’twink genre’ gay porn performer using the stage names of Donny Price & Craven Cox passed away in New York City, on March 17, 2010 following a brief illness associated with complications of HIV.” The article also noted that Noel had worked for an adult entertainment company that makes videos of men barebacking–a euphemism for unprotected anal sex. Noel had also performed under the names Craven Cox and Donny Price. Noel was a native of Laramie, Wyoming, the town outside of which Matthew Shepard was beaten and left to die.

I presume the gay leftist community will immediately rally behind safer sex efforts as a response to Mr. Noel’s passing equal to their rallies against hate crimes.

  1. last paragraph. . .Health officials say that the younger generation of MSMs believe that HIV is no longer a life-threatening disease, due to the success of drug regimens in keeping the virus in check. However, HIV- and AIDS-related illnesses and complications do still prove fatal in some cases, and there is no cure for the disease.

remember those striking poses of young folk on the back cover of the magazines with the pharma’s print. . .’you too can lead a normal and healthy life as a poz person’

  2. As Donny Price (photo left) his inception into the adult film world began following his recruitment by the late Cobra Video owner Bryan Kocis.

In 2004 Cobra Video released a video, Every Poolboy’s Dream (later recalled) which starred Donny Price and then underage Brent Corrigan.

Chad Noel would go on to film at HelixStudios as Craven Cox and various fetish videos under yet another stage name, Kyle Young.

  3. Condom Wars
New guidelines gut HIV prevention — and endanger young people’s lives

By Doug Ireland Thursday, Jun 24 2004

Lethal new regulations from President Bush’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, quietly issued with no fanfare last week, complete the right-wing Republicans’ goal of gutting HIV-prevention education in the United States. In place of effective, disease-preventing safe-sex education, little will soon remain except failed programs that denounce condom use, while teaching abstinence as the only way to prevent the spread of AIDS. And those abstinence-only programs, researchers say, actually increasethe risk of contracting AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

  4. You know these ads. You’ve seen them in gay and lesbian magazines, in publications aimed at people living with HIV and even in outdoor advertising like the posters on those city bus shelters. More often than not, these ads show sexy, young, gym-toned, rock-climbing, sail boating, bicycling people generally blissed out of their minds, enjoying a kind of fantasy existence bearing almost no resemblance to the lives of patients actually battling HIV or AIDS with these medications. If you take these drugs, you already know they’re outrageously expensive, have unpleasant and sometimes bizarre side effects, and require a grueling adherence schedule. Yes, committing to combination therapy is kind of like signing up for your own private, ongoing boot camp.

  5. Both Matthew Shepard and Chad Noel should be cautionary examples, both put themselves in jeopardy; one by engaging in the commercialized fetishization of unsafe sex and hiv transmission, the other by leaving a bar with a pair of strangers to have sex and use drugs. But because one death is politically exploitable while the other is off-message… neither one will be used to educate young ghey men not to put themselves in life-threatening situations.

Condoms are no longer used in straight porn. So, I guess no one is ready.

  9. To counter rusty’s gratuitous slam at the Bush administration, perhaps I should remark that 3,000,000 Africans are alive today who otherwise would not be because of Bush’s African AIDS Initiative.

But since they are darker and poorer than the people gay liberals really care about, I guess they don’t count.

  10. my apologies for not acknowleding Bush. . .Jenna Bush. . .
As makeovers go, the transition this week of Jenna Bush, daughter of the president, from Texan wild child into a literary champion of oppressed women in the world ranks as impressive.
Eighteen months ago Ms Bush was best known for sticking her tongue out at reporters, and for being charged with possession of alcohol as a minor.

Fast-forward to this week and a very different Jenna Bush is on display. After travelling through South America last autumn with Unicef, the United Nations children’s fund, she has published a book, Ana’s Story: a Journey of Hope.

It relates the life of a Latin American teenager with HIV. In 102 short chapters it tells in pared-down language how the girl’s mother died of Aids when she was three, and how she was abused by foster parents and became pregnant at 16. Ms Bush says it is based on a real Ana, but hints it is an amalgam of personal tales.

The book will be welcomed by many campaigners for backing the use of condoms as protection against HIV. She mentions abstinence – the anti-Aids policy controversially favoured by her father – but says “the best way to protect yourself from HIV is to be faithful to your partner and use a condom”.

Actually, these “gay liberals” have made racial and economic justice a key point in the movement.

  12. Actually, these “gay liberals” have made racial and economic justice a key point in the movement.

Window-dressing. To the left, “social justice” is a code-word for guilt-based income redistribution. We’ve heard too many times over the last few years about how brown Arabs don’t deserve democracy, brown Palestinians can’t be expected to behave like civilized people, and that standards have to be lowered to accommodate black and brown people to really believe that liberals believe that darker-skinned people are their equals.

Not to mention the way liberals insist on keeping poor minority kids in awful public schools because they don’t want them to receive the quality of education their little darlings receive. One of Obama’s first acts as president was to destroy the DC voucher program.

    Comment by V the K — April 15, 2010 @ 12:09 pm - April 15, 2010

  13. But back on topic, there is a distinct lack of willingness or ability for the gay community to police itself; its inability to condemn immoral or irresponsible behavior is in stark contrast with its ability to play the victim card and blame others for “oppression.”

Also, the pronographers who made loads of money on bareback pron have blood on their hands.

  14. Actually, these “gay liberals” have made racial and economic justice a key point in the movement.

Which is why they scream “n*****” at black people who disagree with them.

That is typical, though. Lloyd only supports “racial justice” for minorities who will step and fetch for him and his fellow liberals. It’s no surprise that the Obama Party, which supported slavery and segregation, demands absolute obedience from its pet minorities and attacks and beats any who dare disagree with them politically.

  15. I’m not following how this is a conservative vs. liberal issue. Consumers of porn, including of the bareback variety, come from all ends of the political spectrum. Ditto for risky personal behavior. I agree with V the K that neither Shephard or Noel showed the best judgment and both paid a price for this, which in no way means that either deserved what happened to them, that I celebrate their respective fates or that in Shephard’s case his attackers were justified at all. They were fortunate not to get the death penalty but at least are behind bars for life. Noel took a job that 99% of people regardless of their sexual orientation would find themselves unable or unwilling to do for one reason or another. It’s very sad to see someone die at such a young age and if anything perhaps the example of his poor choices provides a lesson to anyone else thinking of entering his profession.

  16. Which is why they scream “n*****” at black people who disagree with them.

No, which is why they fiercely advocate affirmative action and programs to help the poor.

    Comment by Lloyd — April 15, 2010 @ 1:41 pm - April 15, 2010

  17. No, which is why they fiercely advocate affirmative action and programs to help the poor.

“Affirmative action” is no surprise; that’s merely liberals putting into action their belief that racial minorities are inherently inferior and unable to compete on the same playing field as white people without “help”.

Why do you think all black people are inferior and need special bonus points to get through life, Lloyd? Is that why you call them “n*****s” when they disobey you?

And as for “programs to help the poor”, why don’t gay liberals just reach into their pockets and give their own money to the poor, instead of raising taxes on everyone else — which directly impacts and harms the poor?

Answer: Because gay liberals don’t care about the poor. Just like the black people who they call “n*****s”, gay liberals treat the poor with contempt and want them to be enslaved, helpless, and dependent on government “programs”.

  18. It’s a tragic story.

FWIW TnnsNe1 has it right; this is not a gay vs. story. But I do think that this has larger poltical ramifications.

Reading the comments from the original story, I have to paraphrase Coulter: it’s something in liberals’ DNA – They think they can pass a law eliminating guns and nuclear weapons, but teenagers having safe sex is completely beyond our control.

    Cordially,

  19. And those abstinence-only programs, researchers say, actually increasethe risk of contracting AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

Clearly the lib’s favorite “Screw everything with a hole” programs work better.

No, which is why they fiercely advocate affirmative action and programs to help the poor.

Affirmative Action = Special treatment based on skin color and/or sex. Last I checked, that was called racism and sexism.

These liberal “programs to help the poor” has resulted in the current economy. Not to mention 40 years and trillions of dollars later, we still have poor people and black families have been decimated. You can’t say “Well, we had good intentions.”. You have to be held accountable for the disastrous results of your intentions.

  21. In place of effective, disease-preventing safe-sex education, little will soon remain except failed programs that denounce condom use, while teaching abstinence as the only way to prevent the spread of AIDS……

She mentions abstinence – the anti-Aids policy controversially favoured by her father – but says “the best way to protect yourself from HIV is to be faithful to your partner and use a condom”.

A COMPLETE LOAD OF BALD-FACED LIES!!!!

I dont know if these are your words or if the whole thing is a quote, but they are lies and they are flat out wrong.

The Bush anti-AIDS policy was ALWAYS the “ABC” policy where
“A” stands for “abstain” until marriage
    “B” stands for “be faithful”
and “C” stands for the correct, consistent use of CONDOMS.

ANyone who says Bush’s policy was “abstinence only” or stopped teaching about safe sex is a bald faced liar. His policy taught the truth, which is that the ONLY way to be sure not to get HIV is to abstain from sex, that the second lease risky behavior is monogamous relationships, and that that condoms should always be used for people who are going to have sex anyway.

Jenna Bush is not doing ANYTHING differently than her father and mother promoted, she is promoting exactly the same policy they always did.

Meanwhile, recent studies showed that policies like President Bush’s which emphasize abstinence WORK better and result in less unwanted pregnancy and less disease!

Meanwhile, liberal Planned Parenthood is telling HIV positive people that they have a right to have sex and they dont have to tell anyone their status — which, taken together, is a direct violation of the law in many states.

Bush’s policy works. Liberals just hate anyone teaching that there is responsibility involved in sex.

  22. “Abstinence Only” isn’t taught anywhere. It’s another progressive boogeyman to scare the dimwits into thinking that if Republicans are elected, they’ll outlaw sex.

  23. I too find it hard to see the interest in constructing some linkage between Matthew Shepard’s brutal death and the fact that Chad Noel got his just reward for supreme irresponsibility in the end. Can it truly be just because of the Laramie WY connection –or is it just another opportunity to swing the dead cat of Shepard’s battered body ’round the room?

I think it’s the latter, which is kind of sad. Pathetic, really.

The last thing anyone needs is another attempt to politicize Shepard’s or Noel’s deaths… it’s almost like cheering on those whacked Westboro Baptist protesters at a military funeral… can we climb out of the hole and get back to civility at some point? Or does every death have to be another opportunity to gloat about how morally superior one side is over another? Leave the chest-beating to chimps, ok? And the feces flinging. The families & memories of Shepard or Noel don’t deserve this kind of treatment.

It’s inhumane for people who are so quick to celebrate their own superior humanity.
