Fly in the Face of What Facts, Charles?
Or, the Homosexual Tea Party Narrative

Over at Just One Minute, Tom Maguire comments on “Charles Blow[‘s], the NY Times other professional grievance columnist” explanation “that the Tea Party is racist until they can prove otherwise”:

According to an article accompanying a Washington Post/ABC News poll released on Wednesday: “About 61 percent of tea party opponents say racism has a lot to do with the movement, a view held by just 7 percent of tea party supporters.”

This gulf of perception has left Tea Party organizers struggling to scrub the stain of racism from its image, but those efforts may fly in the face of the facts.

Once again, relying on the critics of an organization to determine the beliefs of the organization’s members.

This is like a film critics writing a series of scathing reviews of a movie and then talking about the gulf of perception that leaves the films producers struggling to scrub the stain of bad notices from the flick’s image.  This isn’t the pot calling the kettle black.  This is the pot photoshopping a picture of the kettle to make it black and then pronouncing it so.

And while Blow blathers on about “facts,” he offers no facts whatsoever to justify his accusations, trotting out only an interpretation of a study “highly skewed by political bias.”  Those looking for racism in the Tea Party movement will surely find it, just as those looking for gay participation in such rallies will also find it.

But, no one is accusing the Tea Parties of being focal points of the homosexual agenda.  It just doesn’t fit the narrative.  From my experience, however, there are clearly more gay men, more lesbians even, in the Tea Party movement than there are racists. Far more, far, far, far more.

Ponder that for a minute as you consider the left-wing narrative.

  1. And Blow is just another angry Black man. My racist ancestors had a word for that.
On a completely unrelated note, an all-black field trip that white children weren’t allowed to go on.

  2. There are a number of African-American columnists whose entire job is to attack the political enemies of their employers as racists. It strikes me that the appropriate name for such hit pieces would be “Bl*w j*bs”.

  6. I have not made the acquaintance of Sir Charles of Blow, but a “black” columnist for the NYTimes is credential enough for my antennae. Liberal, ed-u-ma-cated, lauded blacks are always suckers for the plantation overseer’s position. They don’t know if they got there by affirmative action or merit, but they darn sure aren’t going to risk riding in the front of the bus just to find out.

The soft underbelly of racism is the assumption that the black guy is somehow handicapped and needs a few few yards of advantage when he tees off. The effect of that pernicious charity is to cause the black man to always doubt himself and award the giver of the charity a sense of proprietary right.

So, Charles Blow sniffs out racism in the TEA Party. Well, Charles Blow, I think your nose is extra brown because you are the liberal white man’s most useful Uncle Tom. There is nothing quite so pathetic as a sock puppet who hires himself out to play the race card or use his minority “status” to please his handlers.

Let us suppose that Sir Charles of Blow actually believes that the TEA Party is full of racists. Being the outstanding journalist of the Newspaper of Record that he is, his column would be full of irrefutable evidence that would send the TEA Party scrambling to defend its reputation. Short of that, the man is just another whining liberal with a runny nose and loose lips.

  7. Oh, well – since blacks in California opposed the gay marriage measure on the ballot, I am confident Blow is a homophobe; since he backed Obama over Hillary, we can chalk him up as sexist as well.

And until he can scrub the stain of sexist homophobia from himself, we intend to tune him out.

Oh, I can totally drink to that. WTF is “racially resentful” anyway?

  9. It sounds like Charles Blow is a misogynist and a racist. It is called projection. He looks for the racism in others when he in fact is the one who is racist.

Just because he is black does not mean that he is incapable of racism. In fact it is the opposite that is true. He is extremely capable of racism.

It is a good point about the number of gays and lesbians that attend Tea Parties, not just in California, but also in Chicago – where they are both gay and Democrats to boot.

  11. Welcome to the Left’s newest fallacy. Used to be the Straw Man. Now it’s Argumentum ad ignorantiam, forcing someone to defend against your charges of him as being true unless proven otherwise. It’s childish, scandalous, intellectually dishonest, and frankly what we’ve come to expect.
