Finding Out More:

May 18, 2010 by ColoradoPatriot

Boy, Nancy Pelosi must be glad America has the Drudge Report. After all, as she said herself, “we have to pass the [health care ] bill so that you can find out what is in it.”

Today, as if answering her call for such information, Matt links to two new pieces of news about the SoHCA2010:

Health reform threatens to cram already overwhelmed emergency rooms:

The new healthcare law will pack 32 million newly insured people into emergency rooms already crammed beyond capacity, according to experts on healthcare facilities.

And,

Texas doctors opting out of Medicare at alarming rate:

Texas doctors are opting out of Medicare at alarming rates, frustrated by reimbursement cuts they say make participation in government-funded care of seniors unaffordable.

Two years after a survey found nearly half of Texas doctors weren’t taking some new Medicare patients, new data shows 100 to 200 a year are now ending all involvement with the program. Before 2007, the number of doctors opting out averaged less than a handful a year.

Do you suppose Speaker Pelosi will thank Drudge for helping her out in educating us about ObamaCare, now that it’s passed, just as she promised?

UPDATE: What can I say, but, God bless our commentors (I’m sure the Speaker likewise sends along her thanks)… From ILC: Forget about keeping your doctor and your plan under ObamaCare

Perhaps if we all just ate the steady supply of Rainbow colored lollipops and drank the tutti-frutti KoolAde then we TOO could see the wonderful, magical, mystical world brought to you by the One and his minions.

Meanwhile the rest of us will have to clean-up his mess for a generation or three…..

You mean if we did a few buttons of ‘shrooms.

The Humble, TX. doc I worked for 15 years ago wouldn’t take new Medicare patients because he wasn’t making any money off them. He retired from Thoracic Surgeon with Dr. DeBakey to become a GP, but wound up losing money.

There’s also the work released by John Boehner showing that the plan will cripple businesses like White Castle.

He explained that “this provision alone would lead to approximate increased costs equal to over 55 percent of what we earn annually in net income.” He added: “Effectively cutting our net income in half would have [a] devastating impact on the business — cutting future expansion and more job creation at least in half. Sadly, it makes it difficult to justify growing where jobs are needed most — in lower income areas.”

No word on if the possible job cuts at White Castle will affect Levi though.

Doctors opting out of Medicare? What’s the problem?

Just pass a law forcing them to accept whatever the gubmint tells them to. What could go wrong?

Hey, what’s the big deal? Just pass a federal law forcing all doctors in all states to accept Medicare patients as a condition for being licensed to practice.

See, every problem can be solved by throwing MORE government at it!
