Death Threat: “Liberal Tolerance” On Full Display

My first death threat.  I feel proud.  This message was sent to me on Thursday via Twitter from out of left (literally) field.

steve (@stevexumba)

@GayPatriot I hope that a homophobic teabagger beats you to death and leaves you to die, you uncle Tom motherfucker

Pleasant, huh?  I can’t say I’m surprised, though.  Some of the most vile hate speech on the Internet comes from the American progressives.  You rarely see the kind of language on conservative blogs as you do on DailyKos, Democratic Underground or AmericaBlog on an hourly basis.

I’m happy to report that the Twitter community rallied in support of me and trashed the liberal troll up one side and down the other.  In fact, he has deleted all of his postings to me completely.  But the Internet saves EVERYTHING.  And thanks to the Library of Congress’ agreement with Twitter, Steve’s death threat is part of recorded American history!  His Mom must be so proud.

I wonder if my last response to him on Twitter had anything to do with his trying to erase the evidence?

GayPatriot (@gaypatriot)
@stevexumba Under Federal & state laws, your statement to me does constitute a threat that can be pursued with criminal and civil charges

Ah, the cross we conservatives have to bear in America by standing up to political intimidation.

  1. Never fear… he is one very ignorant liberal troll, because he must think that you are an AA.

Also, he has been drinking the Kool-aid with regard to the TEA movement.

I have not seen one sign from any of the TEA parties featured on the Internet that supports the idea that people who attend such occasions are homophobic. There is never any such sign.

However, in this case, it is probably an AA who has been paid by OFA because he used the expression “uncle Tom” and the mf expression seems to also come mostly from that same community.

Considering the high percentage of straight people who frequent the Hillbuzz blog, and who are themselves people who attend TEA parties, the idea that tea partiers is really one that is quite absurd.

Anyway, congratulations must be in order for getting your first death threat. Wear it with pride… :)

I will have to start praying for your safety, as well as the safety of other members of this blog.

This straight gal wishes you all the best.

  3. So, a flying monkey from the Political Correctness advance warning system has dropped a love-tap on you. How special. He warns you of how he would act were he a homophobic teabagger. But, since he is above all that, all he can do is “hope” (which is newspeak for “pray” which is politically incorrect….) …. you not only get beaten to death…. but get this …… you are also left to die ….. (again?) …. And then, with no segue whatsoever, he reveals that you are a black man that has sold out the race and that your particular perversion involves an Oedipus complex. Oh, my. What a glorious warden of enlightenment. Just the guy to carry the badge and organize society and enforce social justice and bring hope and change to an America that is being fundamentally transformed.

There seem to be so many of them. Do they all live in their mother’s basements?

  7. First off, the guy seems to wish you be killed. That is hardly a threat. A threat is if he would…..like threaten you, or something. State that he intends to do the deed himself.

But playing the victim is quite the drug, eh?

“Some of the most vile hate speech on the Internet comes from the American progressives. You rarely see the kind of language on conservative blogs as you do on DailyKos, ”

Actually, I have found the language here at Gay Patriot to be worse than that at Kos. I mean, have you ever seen the owner of a blog dedicate a front page post to trashing, in a most vile and disgusting manner, one of his own readers – someone who he may disagree with, but never used any expletives, never made any defamatory charges, but simply calmly explained a different perspective?

That was you, writing about me. I still expect an apology, especially when you go on to criticize others for their own vile language.

And of course, it is not just you. You harbor and nurture a couple of world-class thugs in your comments section, who seem to take it upon themselves to enforce a conformity amongst the commenting community – no one dares to dispute the GP line unless they are willing to read themselves being lied about, or characterized in the most disgusting manner.

I can understand perhaps, that a few of your more challenged readers might slip into the habit of letting their loyalties cloud their judgement, and just go along with the idea that the other side must be far worse than what they see here. But that can’t be that many people. In other words, you gotta realize that nearly everyone knows how dishonest this post of yours is. Or do you really think your viewers are that dumb? Or that loyal to you such that they willfully ignore the obvious?

You gotta make up your mind here. Do you really believe the standards that you put forth? If so, then look in the mirror and realize that you are very much part of the problem. The only difference between you and the worst that you see on the left, is the fact that you are not on the left.

If you just want to keep doing what you do, then spare us all this hypocritical whining about what others write.

  9. Who are these people??? In America where we are the individuals who are free to be what ever we can dream of and this guy dreams of calling you names and wants you to die?? No wonder they are called the left as out in left field. GP you have so many TPartiers that would give up their lives for you you don’t even know.

  11. Get off the cross, Tano.

    We need the wood.

Better still, since you want to whine about a post dedicated to calling you out. Why don’t you answer the list of questions and challenges here

BP ‘plugged the damn hole’ in less time than it would take you to respond to the pasting you’ve received over the months.

  16. Actually Tano, I disagree with people on here and don’t feel like I get turned on or beaten up on by anyone. I think it has to do more with the words and logic you use in your arguments. People are fine with having rational disagreements, just it usually goes to an extreme.

And its also the internet….you can always click back.

    Comment by darkeyedresolve — May 28, 2010 @ 12:18 pm - May 28, 2010

  17. darkeyed,

I think you made one mistake. Tano uses words. Logic however…

I mean this is the guy after all, who when confronted with the faked data on climate change, linked to the data in question to show it was valid.

I try, very hard, not to descend into insults. It’s much more fun to use the trolls words against them. I don’t agree with you on everything, and the same goes for Pat, but I respect you. There’s a difference.

    Comment by The_Livewire — May 28, 2010 @ 12:22 pm - May 28, 2010

  18. I happen to be one of those conservatives who is also in fact opposed to homosexuality on a number of levels. But I’m not a “homophobe,” I strongly commend and respect your conservativism, and these imbeciles who think there is anything righteous, noble, or good in threatening to take your life do themselves and all of humanity an injustice. So, while I will strongly disagree with homosexuality, I am pleased to see my fellow Americans thinking for themselves rather than assimilating into a mainstream umbrella of ideology just because they happen to identify with one subset on some level. Good work. Keep it up.

    Comment by Andrew — May 28, 2010 @ 12:45 pm - May 28, 2010

  19. Like what TL said. People like DER and Pat command my respect with their intellectual honesty; people like Tano and Ash do not.

  20. I’m becoming convinced, now, that Leftism really is a form of mental illness. And of course one of our resident trolls must immediately post a defense of this guy (awww…it’s not so bad…).

Linking to the very data just discredited to prove their point. That’s priceless.

The thing is, most of them really can’t think. They’ve up to their eyeballs in the quicksand that is Leftist “thought,” and they very literally can do nothing but throw another MSNBC/Air America slogan at you when you try to reason with them. It’s pathetic. You can see their eyes dart to and fro as they…search for another little CD to stick in the player and deal with you.

And the bigots, for the most part, are in their own minds. When you start appeaasing their imaginary bigots (which only they know you’re doing, because no one else sees the invisible people they do), then they must ATTACK!

…By threatening behind an alias in cyberspace. Their weapon of choice. They’re mad as hell…you can’t stop ‘em from skulking and hiding anymore.

    Pathetic.

  22. In a dark humor kinda way I have to say “Congrats”, I have one very set rule, if you are pissing off the left your doing something right.

And for those of you who don’t get it, “Uncle Tom” has less to do with race and more to do with being a perceived traitor. Strangely enough the Character of “Uncle Tom” stands up for his beliefs and begrudgingly gets respect from his opponents… So I never did really understand the “insult”.

    Comment by American Elephant — May 28, 2010 @ 5:00 pm - May 28, 2010

  25. Dear Bruce, there are assholes all over. Most liberals, nor most conservatives, do not resort to death threats to make a point. The presumed anonymity of the internet allows people to say such hateful things. I certainly don’t know anyone who would think it’s okay to send someone a message like that. I’m sure liberal bloggers get similar nasty comments. That doesn’t make all conservatives like that.

    Comment by Houndentenor — May 28, 2010 @ 6:37 pm - May 28, 2010

  26. P.S. I agree with Matt. You should report that to Matt. Threats of violence are NOT covered by the first amendment and I’m pretty sure are a violation of the Twitter terms of service. Reporting that asshole would do everyone a favor.

When Pres. Obama came to San Francisco today for a fundraiser for Sen. Boxer, he was greeted by a Tea Party. This upset San Francisco’s sometimes violent leftists who chanted: Racist, sexist, anti-gay, Tea Party go away! …….
