Michelle Obama’s Excellent Spanish Adventure

August 10, 2010 by Bruce Carroll

As perceived in Taiwan… and Main Street America.  You don’t need to speak Chinese for this to translate.

Like O’Reilly said last night, people are only talking about this is because there is nothing else going on. We all know Bush spent more time vacationing then in office. The outrage is silly.

Ann, when were the times Bush went on vacation? Besides, why bring up the Bush strawman in the first place? You can’t defend Obama’s constant parties & numerous vacations. Obama is is his own MTV special when it comes to his BIRTHDAY WEEK, vacations, & White House parties on our dime!

Hmmmmm….Ann, your comment just exposes you as one of the idiots that probably spent time staked out in Crawford, Texas with a stop watch so that you could bitch about Bush not doing his job. But I’m sure you considered THAT outrage to be the “highest form of patriotism.” Oh, and Bush spending the weekend at his own house in Crawford? Not quite the same as six-figure Euro-tours taken during an awful economy by people that routinely tell us that we need to sacrifice more. Like Michelle Obama, you really should just go fu*k yourself.

the it’s interesting that you seem to be so sure of yourself that “Bush spent more time vacationing then in office.”

    Very funny.
    But…
What concerns me almost as much as his socialist policies and his ignorance of what makes the American economy run; is the damage he is doing to the Office of the Presidency. He is squandering the “bully pulpit” and is becoming a laughing stock. It’s NOT in our national self interest to have an impotent President when it comes to foreign affairs. I really fear the next terrorist attack or foreign crisis because no foreign leaders respect him.

It’s stunning that Michelle would spend so many hundreds of thousands of dollars in a foreign countrywith her 40 close friends. There was no where in America, that would have been an interesting vacation, while spending cash in the states, saving actual jobs instead of the phantom jobs Barack brags about?
Iknow Michelle and Barack are out of touch but there are people making $40 million a year in salaries in the WH no one has the onions to let them know how wrong this was?

It’s spurious to call Bush-43’s stays at Crawford “vacations” when typically he was briefed each morning in a purpose-built secure briefing room with full telecommunications capabilities. And while there he frequently met or talked with key White and governmental and international figures…so was hardly “off duty” nor unavailable. The MSM and the WH press pool just hated the place since they had to drive 50-miles to Starbucks.

And at-least Bush owned the place…

When LBJ was at his ranch in Texas, the media reported that he was at “the Texas White House.” When Bush was at his ranch in Texas, the media reported that he was on vacation. Never mind the foreign leaders who were there, or the staff meetings he held. Double standard?

“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK. That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen.” – Barack H. Obama

Leadership is Obama taking two jets and three helicopters to New York just for dinner and a Broadway show. But you can’t drive an SUV.

Leadership is Obama serving Wagyu Beef at the White House. Leadership is Michelle ordering a snack of steamed lobster, Iranian caviar, and champagne from room service at the Waldorf Astoria during the 2008 campaign. But you can’t eat as much as you want.

Leadership is Obama cranking up the thermostat in the oval office in January until David Axelrod says “you could grow orchids in there.” But you can’t keep your home at 72 degrees. Heat for me, but not for thee.

But Michelle has taken it to a whole new level with the trip to Spain.

Remember when Nancy Reagan caught hell for buying new White House china from an American company and adding it to the White House collection? “Fancy Nancy” they called her, out of touch with average Americans.

Someone went to a lot of effort to produce that animation: I’d like to see it played this election.

I love how the MSM are going on about the ‘optics’ of the latest installment in Obamarama. I guess plain English like “This looks bad” or “This is inappropriate” hit too close to home for Dear Leader.

The RNC needs to make an ad with Madonna’s “Material Girl” song with Michelle Obama’s visuals in Spain to contrast with the 10% unemployment in America. The ad writes itself. And it would make Madonna soooo mad…

  17. Mr Spontaneous says

It is so funny to see so many people getting so emotional about this. Its like 2 opposing football teams, you just have to hate the opposite team no matter what. The government is always the easiest target to blame when things are going wrong, unemployment is going to be high, we are in a global financial crisis, doesn’t matter who is in power. People complaining about ‘lavish parties’ being held by the obama’s? thats what you need, people with money spending it! And what about them leaving the country and spending their $? Do you not think leaders from other countries holiday in the states? spending their money? Stop complaining about how tough you have it! No one with a real problem complains, go to 3rd world countries, you won’t hear them complaining!

[GP Ed. Note – Mr. Spon: The outrage here is that Michelle Antoinette is spending AMERICAN TAX PAYER dollars on her Spanish getaway. I have no problem if the Obama’s spent some of their personal millions. But they are feeding off my tax money while their fiscal policies have made the Recession into a Depression.

You may have forgotten — we Yanks fought a war with you Brits over shit like this.]

To expand on the GP Ed. Note, Chairman Obama has told the Proles that we must sacrifice. Meanwhile, he’s living as if he’s waiting for a call from MTV Cribs on OPM. Not to mention they have punishment on the way for the people whom we NEED to be spending money and hiring to make DAMN sure it doesn’t happen.

If they really gave a f*ck, the liberals could have turned this ship around LAST YEAR. The fact that they didn’t and still won’t is very telling.

A really sharp reporter needs to ask the Obamas–Michelle & Barry O–“How does it feel to spend other people’s, specifically the taxpayers’ money, on lavish, indulgent foreign vacations such as Michelle Obama’s trip to Spain & the couple’s numerous vacations & gluttonous ‘Date Nights'”? The people have a right to know given they are using taxpayer money to fund their trips.

Marie Antoinette got beheaded for her arrogance & disdain for the people. The Obamas may well keep their heads at the cost of everything else: Their crumbling credibility & constant need for self-adulation at the expense of everything else.

We were just ”gifted” with ”smart meters” from SCE.
So, sometime soon, when it is really hot or really cold, we will find out that they can simply turn off our juice.
    Sure, not today.
This has been one of southern CA’s coolest summers on record.
    But they are ready.
