President Obama Is A Bigot

August 10, 2010 by Bruce Carroll

If you buy the bullshit being shoveled out by the gay activists and their drones then this is the logical conclusion.

President Obama is a bigot because he opposes same-sex marriage.  So are Joe Biden and Hillary Rodham Clinton.  And millions of Californians of different races, sexes, and religious views.

Nelson Lund has more on the bigoted President, his cabinet, millions of Americans including me, and the Prop 8 ruling.

I’ve weighed in on the case at my own blog. Debates over the nature of homosexuality don’t figure into it at all. Summary:

    1. The government is neither owner nor custodian over marriage, just as OSHA (which has exceedingly greater regulatory powers over its charges than the State has over marriage) is neither owner nor custodian over businesses.

    2. The government does not own the common language, because the power to name rests with an owner or custodian, and government does not own the concepts, institutions, persons, verbs, etc. named in the common-language. Government may name that which it owns – federal buildings, legal procedures, etc.

BTW, can someone explain Judge Walker’s “discredited notions of gender” remark? I have no freakin idea what it means.

I have actually told leftist friends who still support Obama that their lack of reasoning has become so creepy, I’m not sure I know them anymore.

He continues to get their support because (A) he is a Democrat and (B) he calls himself a progressive. He very literally does not need to do anything else — even be consistent about walking his own talk.

I’ve tried to explain to my friends that in interpersonal relationships, this disconnect from reality — this codependency, as it used to be called — is highly disfunctional. They have come to define themselves totally by what they are not (right-wingers).

Any reputable psychiatrist would tell them that they become what they hate.

Statist politics, which fixate on “the enemy” to a pathological degree — getting them to do what we want, forcing things upon them — are extremely emotionally unhealthy. No wonder we’re becoming a nation of basket-cases.

Alan, I used the expression, “discredited notions of gender” to reference the self-important judge’s apparent acceptance of the social construction of marriage theory popular in the 1960s and 1970s and still au courant among trendy lefties. Basically, that notion hold that the difference between the sexes is entirely a social construct.

If calling gay unions by a different name than marriage is bigoted, then so is calling gay people gay, homosexual, queer, etc. Every gay person calling himself or herself gay must be self-loathing. Queer Eye for the Straight Guy must have been a bigoted, homophobic show.

This is of course wrong. Just as it is not bigoted to call gay people gay instead of straight, it is not bigoted to call gay unions another name than marriages (which has a historical and traditional definition)

Perhaps separate words for homosexuals and homosexual unions will die out. But there is nothing bigoted about the language itself.

Walker used the phrase “discredited notions of gender” himself. Blatt’s interpretation seems to fit the context.

If Walker thinks that mean and women are psychologically identical, then he needs to be deported back to his parallel universe. Unfortunately, the ruling class isn’t too keen on border enforcement.

This ruling should surprise no one. This is the way the left gets around the will of the people. Californians are the most accepting and liberal people (sorry MA) in the nation, and yet they chose to adopt Prop 8. The fact that the voters of CA decided to define marriage as between a man and a woman is a testament that democracy works; that the will of the people should be the rule of law.
The left can’t stand the fact that the people had spoken on this issue contrary to what they think is “right”. So the natural order of things, in the liberal mind, is to overturn the will of the people by finding a judge who will circumvent democracy and rule in their favor. The people of CA are obviously too stupid to realize how Neanderthalic they acted when the voted for Prop 8, and the only solution to help them realize their shortcoming was to have a liberal judge show them the way. Puleeez.

    Not only that.

The people of California created domestic partnerships intended to give same-sex couples the same legal protections as married couples. Furthermore, the California Supreme Court implied that these domestic partnerships must have the same benefits, protections, qualifications 9aside from gender makeup), and duties. ( Strauss v. Horton )

You guys are right! If the people voted ban Islam, and I’m sure we could get some state to do that, then it should be illegal!! Whatever the majority says, the minority should live with! Yay!
