Can I just say that the words “taint” and “Pelosi” should never be in the same sentence.

Is it just me, or did anyone else think the paragraph below sounded more like something you would read in The Onion than The Washington Times?
“Democratic leaders have been largely noncommittal when asked specifically about either of the proceedings, saying that the cases are being handled appropriately. Rep. Chris Van Hollen, head of the House Democrats’ campaign arm, said the charges may serve to help the party in November by demonstrating that Democrats take the ethics process seriously.”
Of course, I knew that the Democrats were panicking, but this is just pitiful. Following Van Hollen’s logic, if 20 Democrats in the House were facing ethics charges instead of 2, then the Democrats could look forward to landslide victories across the board this November! Isn’t this like Charles Manson’s defense attorney predicting that the jury will vote to acquit because Manson exhibited such excellent posture at the defendant’s table throughout the trial?
I am so happy.

It will be interesting if Waters’ and Rangel’s corruption gets traction. Sure, the story is out there, but I would hardly say the MSM is beating the drums yet. But it’s possible in this political climate that the MSM won’t be able to stop people from noticing. I don’t see how Democrats are going to be able to get away with burying these cases. If I were a Democrat wanting to preserve the majority, I would not want them to bury these cases. It may be painful for them to go after Waters and Rangel, but giving GOP candidates the narrative that Democrats are corrupt and won’t do anything about corruption within their own caucus will be even more painful for them.
