Has NYT ever run article, “Pelosi’s Top Aide is Little Known”?

September 26, 2010 by B. Daniel Blatt

Welcome Instapundit Readers!!

Or about Steny Hoyer’s Top Aide?  Or Harry Reid’s?  Or any Democrat for that matter?

Aren’t most politicians top staffers little known?  But, somehow the New York Times thinks it’s important to let us know that little factoid about the chief of staff to the next Speaker of the House.

Wonder why that is.

The NYT is falling apart. Did you catch their headline?

Boehner’s Top Aide Is Little Known

All the news that’s fit to misprint.

So, is the New York Times/Daily Kos going to run with that Bohner infidelity rumor, or are they saving it for an October Surprise?

I heard that Boehner’s top aide has a sister who went to grammar school with a kid whose uncle knew the wife of the unknown soldier and sold postcards of his tombstone for gambling money.

It IS important, because Americans need to know who will aid in the DESTRUCTION of their country.

Not even that. If it causes a conservative to go “who?” it apparently leads.

The media and Democrats are going to go ALL out this year to protect Democrats seats. The attack on Boener will, I suspect, be only one of many October surprizes.

Then of course, the unions have picked up running the election-fraud arm of the Democrat party…

Registering thousands of fraudulent voters so Democrat operatives can then stuff the ballot boxes in heavily Democrat districts. It worked in WA where gregoire stole the governorship from Dino Rossi, it worked in Minnesota where Al Franken successfully stole the election from Norm Coleman

…and this year they’ve already been caught doing it in Texas, you better believe it will be coming to your state, and Democrats WILL steal close elections.

The only staff member of a Democrat legislator that I can remember getting press attention was Huma Abedin who worked for Hillary Clinton.

However, If she wasn’t so photo friendly, I doubt that we would know anything about her. Always wondered which campaign encouraged the Hillary Huma lesbian affair rumor.

Pelosi has had an aide recently resign for bring pot into the Capitol building. Seems like she also had one fired for having child porn on their computer. Yes, we don’t know much about Pelosi aides, but the ones we do know about aren’t the type you want in your house.

Obama’s aide is called the TOTUS; he has 3 of them, each with more personality than the one can manifest on the best day. Obama & the other Obama Democrats’ chief aides are the MSM, the nebulous blob that acts as a megaphone from the corrupt Obama White House as he drowns in the deep end of the kiddie pool.

I just sent the following note to the Public Editor:

    To the Public Editor:

Why is the Times making a fuss about Boehner’s complexion? It appears that they’re doing so in order to make him look bad.

In the 2nd sentence of an article that’s about Boehner’s Chief of Staff, not even about Boehner, the Times mentions what they call Boehner’s “preternatural tan.” http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/26/us/politics/26jackson.html?partner=rss&emc=rss

“Preternatural” means “out of the ordinary course of nature” or “abnormal”. It’s not a nice word. Normally the Times doesn’t discuss a politician’s complexion. Or, if they wanted to mention it, they might say someone had a “deep tan.”

In the past, the pejorative phrase “touch of the tar brush” was used to suggest that someone had a degree of black ancestry. It seems to me the Times’ continued focus on Boehner’s tan and describing it as “preternatural” have the effect of suggesting either that Boehner is lying about not having used tanning aids or that Boehner has touch of the tar brush.

I think Times should be more careful not to write in a way that even suggests a racial attack.

Proud Liberal, you are the marshmallow given you have been drinking the Kool-Aid in gallons at a time. Can you be anymore predictable?

What does Bush have to with the aides of Nancy Pelosi & her botox injections? President Bush is gone & we have President Obama. Man up.

    Note the unflattering photo.

As some posters noted above, whenever you DO hear about a Democratic staffer it always seems to be something like drugs/kiddy porn/getting in a fight with security. This seems to be much rarer with Republicans — you can bet that if there was anything like that with Barry Jackson the NYT would have put it in the story.

OK, went and read it, and the article turned out to be not unfriendly. And it’s reasonable to run a piece on the chief of staff of the next Speaker. There are many things you can criticize the Times for but I don’t see that this is one of them.

Funny, then why didnt the recession even START until a YEAR AFTER Democrats took control of both houses of congress? After a year of Democrats promising and passing massive new tax hikes, massive new regulation and tripling the deficit to an all time high in their very first budget (which they HELD ONTO so Bush could not veto it, confident that Obama would win and sign it) and then QUADRUPLING that record busting budget?

Funny how Republicans can point to specific Democrat policies that caused the recession and the financial meltdown, and all Democrats can do is claim it was Bush’s fault while being completely incapable of stating specifically how.

Americans don’t believe your lies anymore.

Maybe I’m just slow, but I do not think this article means what you think it means.

I read it, and came away thinking that it was both good, and a good thing, as here was this incredibly interesting and impressive guy of whom I’d never heard, but to whom we obviously ought to be listening (but then, I guess we are.)

It made me feel more confident that, behind the scenes, we have some very smart and capable people operating the ship for us. Not that I doubt that we do, but specific evidence is always enjoyable.

I’m no fan of the NYT, but I’m thinking the writer of this piece admires Jackson, and the intent behind its publication wasn’t what I’m guessing is being assumed here.

Re: #26: That’s for sure. I will concede that everyone ended up much worse over the 8 years of the Bush Admin. but now Obama has managed to cram 4 to 8 Bush years into two and accelerated the worsening of our lot! I never dreamed he would be so convinced of the righteousness of his ideas that he would think of inflicting so much more damage than the bumbling Bush ever could.
