So, Gloria Allred Knew Her Client was Breaking the Law

According to Jim Treacher at the Daily Caller, Democratic attorney and Jerry Brown supporter Gloria Allred has “that alleged red-flag letter sent to Whitman by the Social Security Administration several years ago warning her that Diaz’s name didn’t match her SS number.

Okay, good, then.  Now, she has to tell us just exactly how she got the letter.  If she requested it from the Social Security Administration, she needs also to show us her correspondence with the federal agency requesting the document.  I mean, they don’t just release such letters automatically

One of Treacher’s readers asks, “Allred has the letter from the SSA? Did she get it from Nicky Santillan? I wonder who it was it that brought the mail in at Whitman’s house? The housekeeper, maybe?”  Indeed, she did:

Whitman’s team said the former CEO never saw such a letter – and, in any case, Diaz was in charge of picking up the mail in the house.

So, if Allred has the letter, then, she has information showing that her client had broken the law, having faked a Social Security number.  And with such information, wouldn’t a scrupulous attorney wonder about her client’s credibility?  I mean, you know, if she’s gonna lie about her residency status and fake documentation, what other “facts” is this woman making up?

FROM THE COMMENTS:  Sonicfrog alerts us to another law Miss Allred’s client may have broken:

It’s also against the law to steal someone else’s mail, which is what Mrs. Niki did if she intercepted the letter and didn’t give it to Whitman. This could get ugly in a most delicious way!

  3. Also…identity theft anyone?

Whose SSN was this maid using? Where did she get it? Some sort of ID theft ring?

  4. A caller asked Rush if the Attorney General of California* will go after the self-identified illegal alien.

    *anyone know who that is?

She better hope her client didn’t tamper with the US mail! Those guys are assholes! I’m not even sure the Postmaster is required to respect a search warrant. Their authority goes wherever the mail goes.

Most Americans would be shocked at the level of authority the US Post Office has, when it comes to protecting the mail. Gloria Allred is taking a chance that she isn’t personally violating US Postal Code, by withholding information about a potential ‘Postal Crime’. (a federal offense)

  6. With this information, Whitman could make her “client” radioactive for Allred. I also don’t see this so-called controversy gaining any real momentum since the illegal alien maid has many more legal issues herself.

  7. This is such a desperate hail-mary pass. Anyway I’m voting for Whitman.

  8. TMZ has the SSN letter. It has Meg’s husband’s notes (alleged). The letter is probably not stolen, but given to Niki to her to look into. Therefore, we can say Niki didn’t look into it and merely allowed the deception to continue.

I tend to let these letters go sometimes. They don’t say she is an illegal alien. It only says there’s an SSN mismatch.

Now, the problem now is how will Meg respond. I think Allred has more, but who knows how much more. Instead of making a denial as what Allred expects, I think Meg should attack Allred’s credibility. She should let the evidence to remain unanswered until all the evidence is released. The drip drip drip is bad for Meg. Allred might think she has the cards in this poker match. So maybe Meg should think of another strategy without taking Allred’s bait.

  9. This is all such a joke. The heifer could have easily intercepted the letter. How can they prove Whitman ever saw it?

Nine years working for someone who paid you 23 dollars an hour to mop floors, who DIDN’T have you deported immediately when you confessed you had falsified your paperwork, and the little witch turns on her like this.

You can bet Allred promised her amnesty for this, and you can bet she’ll get it.

  10. The Attorney General of California really should go after the employment agency that passed on the false documents to Meg Whitman.
    But he won’t.
I heard he’s pretty busy reminiscing about things he did 30+ years ago.

  11. In a more recent report:

But Allred produced a copy of the letter Thursday that she says shows Whitman’s husband, Dr. Griffith Harsh, partially filled it out. If true, that would mean Whitman and her husband were aware of the immigration problem years ago.
“At bottom of letter, “Dr. Harsh has written: ‘Nicky, please check this. Thanks,’” Allred said, adding that the housekeeper recognized the handwriting as belonging to Whitman’s husband.

Does this mean that Harsh gave the letter to Nicky, and Nicky never gave it back?

  12. Sonic, sure sounds like it.

How else would Nicky have a copy of the letter to give to Allred?

  13. $23.00 an hour and she’s doing the work Americans don’t want to do, huh??
    Makes me sick.

  14. Those squiggly stretchy bands the kids are collecting and wearing on their wrists remind be of Gloria Allred. Explain to me again what either Allred or the squiggly stretchy bands are for.

  15. Did you see the copy of that letter?

It made it very clear that nothing in it implied the person was an illegal alien!
It also made sure the employer understood firing the employee over the ss# problem was an over-reaction!

I STILL don’t understand what EXACTLY (besides quit the race maybe) Gloria wants from Meg.

I hate cleaning, but I’d jump at the chance to do it for that kind of scrilla.

Levin had an interesting interview with Allred:

I’ve not looked, but he says the letter doesn’t say what she says it does.

  18. So now Ms. Nikki is guilty of violating several laws:
    1. being illegally in this country
    2. committing perjury in filling out her employment form
    3. using a fake or stolen SSN
    4. stealing Ms. Whitman’s mail

Anyone want to bet there will be no charges pressed and she won’t be deported?

  21. [...] He informed the employee.  And she held onto the letter.  That Allred had the letter from the housekeeper indicates she knew the housekeeper had faked a Social Security number.  She knew her client had been made aware of her own deception.  Let me repeat, she knew her client had broken the law.
