Even Some Democrats Want Obamacare Repealed

October 6, 2010 by B. Daniel Blatt

I thought people were going to start liking Obamacare just as soon as they found out what’s in it, but even 1 in 4 Democrats favor repeal:

Healthcare reform is hurting the reelection chances of freshman Democrats in the House, according to The Hill/ANGA poll.

A majority of voters in key battleground districts favor repeal of the legislative overhaul Congress passed this year.

President Obama predicted in the spring that the new law would become popular as people learned more about it. But the poll shows Republicans strongly oppose it, independents are wary of it and a surprising number of Democrats also want it overturned.

Emphasis added.  Maybe Republicans could win some crossover votes by promising for full & immediate repeal of Obamacare.

It’s amazing what elections do to once arrogant Obama Democrats who would not listen to their constituents; they are now listening to their constituents too little, too late.

No self-employed or small businessperson in his/her right-mind should support any Democrat until they get rid of the onerous Form1099 requirements on goods and services that Obamacare has imposed on small business.

That requirement along demonstrates the dangers of having too-many legislators who are out of touch with the small-business class.

A lot of those Democrats oppose it because they really want Anglo-Canadian Style Single Payer Socialism.

I thought people were going to start liking Obamacare just as soon as they found out what’s in it….

You might also recall that after Obamacare was “passed” the American sheeple would just forget about it all and file happily to the slaughter house and vote for the Dems in a tsunami of gratitude and affection.

A funny thing happened to the Democrats on way to the Nanny State. Who knew? The dummies with the torches and pitchforks didn’t roll over.

Of course, Dan, ObamaCare wouldn’t even be a reality if fewer of America’s now-suddenly “concerned” conservative political “activist” voters hadn’t sat on their sofa munching pork rinds dipped in velvetta on Election Day, 2008… and in a snit of pouting funkiness turned the Republic over to Obama and the Chicago Crowd. But that’s past; they’ve learned a little… at last. Bitter for the rest of us but thick skulls are sometimes hard to penetrate.

It’s nice to see the fringe learn their lesson and go back to supporting conservatives and the GOP on E-Day 2010. But it’ll be at a price, for sure.

It is not politically possible nor probable to “repeal ObamaCare” unless the GOP gains a 3-4 seat majority in the Senate and a commanding majority in the House –and the new GOP whips can hold that majority for in camera process votes. The WH, Exec Office and Prez always have the upper hand when wheeling and dealing in the Congress… and paying out political favors to closely elected newbies of BOTH parties.

Repeal ObamaCare? Unlikely. Excise certain elements; sure. Doesn’t mean our new-found conservatives and TP activists can’t promise to repeal it, tho. Funny how quick the anti-Washington types employ standard ol’ Washington political games to exact an end… promise the voters a repeal; get to Washington for some face-saving votes and hold others up as blocking reform/repeal.

Still, it’s good to have the pork rinds crowd back in the booth pulling for the GOP candidates… again. A win is still a win… and the chambers are organized by party.

V, I’m thinking that “Anglo-Canadian Style Single Payer Socialism” as you call it, would probably, in reality, be better than the mess that is the result of Obamacare. I would say that my train of thought on this is exactly what they wanted, but I don’t think they are nearly that smart to plan accordingly.

These lying liberals, only now oppose parts of Obamas agenda to save their own hides. When their vote isn’t needed, Pelosi or Reid allowed them to vote the way their public wanted them to vote. When needed, these liberals Democrats went along with the leadership creeps.
    Bye bye to em all!

That 1 in 4 are concerned by what’s not in Obamacare and the fact that the good parts won’t kick in until after the 2012 election (so they won’t affect the Messiah’s chances) in 2014. Right now, only sick children and the insurance industry see anything of value in Obamacare.

The Obama Democrats are so desperate they will say anything to save their worthless political careers so they cna keep Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House. I don’t believe anything the Obama Democrats say. Their words are meaningless since they don’t stand behind them in the first place.

Proud Liberal, thanks for providing such thoughtful analysis of the latest polls in California’s gubernatorial contest.

The Dramacrats are fighting back with a video of naked college students celebrating how Congress is raping insurance companies for their benefit and telling people to vote Democrat so they can continue to have other people pay for their health care.

Remember too, a certain portion of that 25% of Dems in favor of repeal is because they don’t feel it went *far enough*.

I think this is roughly the same percentage who believe Unicorns should have been included too, one with every free policy.
