Speaker of California Assembly Smears His Constituents

At a Democratic rally at the University of Southern California for the president of the United States, one of the leading Democrats in the state used a sexual slur to malign members of the most dynamic, grassroots political movement in the country:

[Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa] relinquished the stage to his cousin, Assembly Speaker John Perez. Perez is running unopposed in his district, so he doesn’t need an Obama bump. But there he was anyway, sending his own personal “message to the teabaggers” that not only do Democrats understand the Constitution, but they’ve also read it. Zing! Who are you again?

Emphasis added.  How would this openly gay Democrat feel if social conservatives at a rally for a prominent Republican referred to gay “equality” advocates as “sodomites”?   They would rightfully be offended and would condemn both the mean-spirited speaker — and the prominent Republican.

As state Assembly Speaker, Mr. Perez serves all the people of California, including those of us who support the Tea Party Movement.

This Democrat should be ashamed of himself for using such juvenile rhetoric, particularly in a public forum.  He should forthwith issue an apology.  And while he’s at it, he would do well to invite a coalition of Tea Party activists to his office in order to familiarize himself with our concerns.

  1. I wouldn’t have bothered to even post this. As we already know, John Perez is an unqualified affirmative action hire anyway.

    Well, yeah, should… but won’t.

  3. Dan, I say let ‘em dig their collective whole a few feet deeper… whether it’s this clown or Bill Maher or Jon Stewart or the NAACP or NPR.

Here in Michigan, Bill Clinton’s blow-festival (no, not the Monica kind) came into the state over the weekend and in blacker-than-blue Detroit, the Dem gov candidate and Bill could only muster about 500-600 “supporters” on a Sun morning in a high school gym and they promised free breakfasts, too… a gym that could hold 2,500 and made the crowd look scant when the cameras swept the crowd for the news feed. Bill seemed to have trouble remembering the candidate’s name and what the guy was running for… oops. And, frankly, Bill looked like he had just pulled an all-night blow festival with Detroit’s hottest hookers.

Bill later took off for the tightly contested Michigan 7th Congressional seat, held now by embattled Dem Mark Schauer. At that event, the organizers properly picked a smaller gym on a college campus –promised free pop, pizza and T shirts to the attendees– just to fill the smallish old gym at Kellogg Community College with about 1100 adoring fans of Bill’s… the candidate got left up on the stage when Bill went out to nuzzle, cuddle and hug the crowd after the speech.

The press in Michigan, no surprise, thought Bill’s presence here portends a stunning upset for the GOP… one pro-Dem editorial bd at a local newspaper swooned the “… Pres Clinton has mostly given up his political work in order to focus on philanthropy…” Which, if you can say that kind of whooper, I guess you can believe Bill’s going to deliver an upset that stuns the GOP.

Let the left dig the hole deeper… on E-Day 2010, they’ll wake up and realize it was their grave.

  4. Found your site on an internet search. I’m not gay, but I like the articles I’ve read so far.

This kinda slams the idea that Tea Party folks are the knuckle-dragging homophobes that the left wants everybody to believe we are.

They claim the same thing with regard to race.

I’ve been called “Teabagger” by family members, old friends and strangers. Obama uses “enemies” to refer to conservatives. If the president acts with such disdain, i don’t expect the left to act any differently. What they lack in fact, they make up for in ad hominem and name calling.

    Regards,
    Shelley – a patriot.
