Endorsing Carly Because Boxer Hasn’t Done Anything for California

October 28, 2010 by B. Daniel Blatt

In endorsing Carly, JSF at Valley of the Shadow acknowledges me for working the Carly beat and faults her opponent, 3-term Senator Barbara Boxer, for doing nothing for California.

Well, Boxer did name a post office.  And change the name of a Court house.  Oh, and, she changed the name of a river.  But, that was in Virginia.

Maybe people from California vacation there.

“You don’t,” he writes, “need a Democratic Senator to do those Bills; Any Senator of any party can do those bills.” What we need is a Senator who can get the water flowing again in the Central Valley. And Boxer, the Chair of the Senate Committee on Environment & Public Works, has instead been chasing her dream of a cap and trade bill.

Even on her pet issue, she couldn’t get anything done.  “Although she is chair of the Environment and Public Works Committee,” wrote the left-of-center editors of her hometown paper, “it is telling that leadership on the most pressing issue before it – climate change – was shifted to Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., because the bill had become so polarized under her wing.”

Help Carly across the finish line so we can have someone in Washington who actually does something for California.

Couldn’t California Democrats make the case that she has protected the fishies in that one place where her party stopped sending water? Liberals seem to mostly be concerned about 2-inch long fish and not very concerned about the lives of Americans, so I’m sure most Californians, being liberals, would be happy that the fish got saved.
