By helping organize Wisconsin protests, is DNC countenancing nasty name-calling of participants?
Over at Politico, Ben Smith reports that national Democrats are helping organize the angry, untidy protests in Wisconsin:
The Democratic National Committee’s Organizing for America arm — the remnant of the 2008 Obama campaign — is playing an active role in organizing protests against Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s attempt to strip most public employees of collective bargaining rights.
OfA, as the campaign group is known, has been criticized at times for staying out of local issues like same-sex marraige, but it’s riding to the aide of the public sector unions who hoping to persuade some Republican legislators to oppose Walker’s plan.
Wonder what HRC has to say about this, with their preferred political party, indeed, the very remnant of the Obama campaign, taking part on behalf of this Democratic constituency when it sat on the sidelines on issues of concern to another of its voting blocks, gay Americans.
Now, that the Democrats are involved in these protests, protests where we’ve seen some very uncivil rhetoric, with the elected Republican governor compared to Hitler, does they then countenance this kind of discourse?
Will Barney Frank call on Democrats to “differentiate themselves” from their national party?
NB: Tweaked title to make it more pithy.
UPDATE: Please note that these are not spontaneous protests, ginned up by interest groups favorably to the Democratic Party and that party’s own auxiliaries.

As if we needed more evidence that the Democrat Party is a wholly-owned subsidiary of govt unions.

I think it’s great because the unions have allowed their masks to fall off and they are showing taxpayers exactly what they are and exactly what they care about. This is good for America.
As every Obama-worshipping liberal will regurgitate on command, this dreadful economy was INHERITED by Obama from the Bush Administration and it was SO BAD we narrowly escaped being mired in a true Depression had it not been for Obama “saving us.” However, despite the fact that liberals admit that we are dealing with the worst economy in almost a century, they are still RIOTING IN THE STREETS because they expect taxpayers to foot the bill for 100% of their pensions instead of 94.2%, and 100% of the cost of their healthcare instead of 87.4%. (They are RIOTING because they insist that people WHO DON’T HAVE FUNDED PENSIONS must pay for 100% of their pensions!)
I say keep it up! All of America is seeing the unbelievable footage–these people are comparing their circumstances to the persecution/extermination of Jews in Nazi Germany–all because they are being asked to cover a tiny fraction of the cost of their lavish benefits packages. No one sympathizes with these people. They have already LOST because America has seen who and what they are.

Obama is behind the protests himself, although he claims the opposite as a simple observer. The lovely thing about these protests is that they have backfired; the people are tired of public sector unions.

The public sector unions are an extension of the Democrat Party; as a result, both are corrupt. Without unions, the Democrat Party is nothing.

Perhaps the 19th-century Prussians were right, civil service employees were not allowed to vote.
We of the private sector have felt the pain for several years now, and our retirement funds have taken a mauling…the public sector employees MUST share the pain to re-balance taxes and government outlays.
How many days before the Wisc. Teacher’s “sick-out” becomes an illegal strike or breach of their contracts. Remember PATCO…fire their whining asses.

In Wisconsin, Republican legislators are asking for law enforcement escorts to protect them from Union Thugs. Does President Civility have anything to say about this?
Comment by V the K — February 17, 2011 @ 7:17 pm - February 17, 2011
Of course not. Barack Obama fully endorses and supports making threats of violence and death against Republicans.
The mask is now completely off and we see what the left does. The violence of the left is now blatant, obvious, and out in the open. The fact that Obama supports physical violence and attacks against Republicans is now there for everyone to see.
Funny, the gay and lesbian left, including Rob Tisinai, Evan Hurst, Box Turtle Bulletin, and the others were all shrieking and crying about “threats” and “civility” and attacking Sarah Palin.
Where are they now when the party and the Obama who own and control them are ACTUALLY making threats against the lives of Republican lawmakers and their families?

Some observations:
The folks mobbing the Wisconsin legislature were very disciplined. No physical violence was done. Threats yes. But these folks went to the brink and didn’t go over the line.
One can explain away a mob that goes riot. Lost their heads, got carried away, saw that 42″ HD LCD in the store window they craved.
But a group of folks, acting on orders, staying within some form of Rules of Engagement, with the logistical heft to bring more mob from places far from Madison – that’s something right there.
The coordination to ensure no Democrat Senators were in the building, to ensure the Republican Senators remained, awaiting a quorum: the tactic is “fix” as in fix in place. Keep the enemy from maneuvering. Without maneuver, the enemy is easy to find, easy to attack.
With Dems out of the building – no fratricide. No Dem to be faced with orchestrated terror, so they could reconsider in their conscience.
Folks, Candidate Obama promised to create a force equal to our military. His supporters applauded, and his RINOs scoffed at the concern of conservatives who were reminded that personal armies are requirements for dictators (“Storm Troopers Are Not A Luxury,” http://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htmurph/articles/20110216.aspx).
Believe today the Democrats have actually stepped up and demonstrated the power and some of the capabilities of their personal storm troopers.

I wonder: Are there non-union folk going around kicking the shit out of union members? Are they camping out on their front lawns and terrorizing childrend? Are they slapping and shoving Seasoned Citizens around?

Every patriotic American supports the pro democracy protests in Wisconsin. Opposing the protests is the moral equivalent of urinating on the graves of American soldiers who gave their lives in WWII to protect our freedom and democracy from Hitler.

Oh, and let’s not forget
libhomo blamed Sarah Palin for the Giffords shooting. So I’m sure he’s going to blame President Obama for inciting the death threats.
Comment by The_Livewire — February 18, 2011 @ 8:47 am - February 18, 2011
Here’s a snippet from libhomo’s ridiculous blog that reveals exactly where he’s coming from:
“Keep in mind that the fringe right extremist Scott Walker is illegitimately holding the office of Governor of Wisconsin as the result of massive election rigging involving big money campaign contributions from wealthy donors (including the Koch brothers), corporatist PAC money, direct corporate campaign spending, and a highly censored and propagandistic corporate press which is reminiscent of the non free press in the former Soviet Union and its satellite states.”
Pathetic and hopeless.
