Americans Say Reagan Is the Greatest U.S. President:
Ahead of Presidents Day 2011, Americans are most likely to say Ronald Reagan was the nation’s greatest president — slightly ahead of Abraham Lincoln and Bill Clinton. Reagan, Lincoln, or John F. Kennedy has been at the top of this “greatest president” list each time this question has been asked in eight surveys over the last 12 years
Whoever puts Clinton on the list for “greatest president” must have a mental disorder.

Expect Obama to try to make more Reagan comparisons in the future.
I think this means that most people can’t name very many Presidents.
That might make me sad, but then I remember that these people probably vote, and that’s more scary than sad. It would explain a lot, though.
Good that Americans rate Reagan above Clinton, JFK, and yes, FDR. I think thats correct. but ahead of Lincoln and Washington? Thats going a bit too far.
And Clinton and JFK ahead of Washington and even Bush for that matter, is as depressing a condemnation of our public schools as I can think of.
Go Coolidge!
David, the list includes mostly modern Presidents. I doubt people would name Washington as the greatest POTUS since no one living was alive during his era.
On the other hand, Reagan did much in his lifetime which the MSM screamed bloody murder. They will never give Reagan credit for his due such as the collapse of the Soviet Union, releasing the Iran hostages, & creating job growth by getting Big Government out of the way of the private sector.
Reagan # 1, not that much Dan. # 1 is LINCOLN, then G. Washington at # 2, then Reagan, then Kennedy.
