Looks like Obama won’t be able to pull a Clinton

February 28, 2011 by B. Daniel Blatt

Via Glenn Reynolds, we learn of a polls which shows that, “More Americans Would Blame Democrats For Government Shutdown.”

Nor can it help the Democrats’ strategy that they don’t have Newt Gingrich to kick around any more.

I read somewhere President Obama is skittish about a government since he & his fellow Democrats would get the blame.

I’ve figured this guy Obama, his wife and his administration to be the most enept since Jimmy Carter. But he’s also unlucky. The hopes and possibility for freedom for so many millions of arabs is amazing, but alas. The main salesman for freedom is the American President and he is frozen by inaction and timidity. How many examples do we need of Obama being in over his head? Some of this is sheer luck. Any other President in the past 100 years would have known in their heart just how to handle Egypt, Libyia, Oman, Somalia. But not the liberal community organizer. What a shame for oppressed peoples everywhere. If the middle east dictators fell, how long would the south american dictators last? What a waste it’s been having Obama for 2 years. The world suffers having him in office another two years.

Obama ain’t Bill…Clinton actually had an engagin personality that made people think he really cared about them. Obama is aloof and cool…he doesn’t really like being with people, unlike Bill. And Boehner is really smarter than Gingrich, who let personal slights get the better of him. Newt is undisciplined, much like Obama.

President Obama is not cool; he’s cold. Obama makes Pluto look like Mercury. Obama is so cold, he could be the White Queen of the Hellfire Club, but the only problem is the White Queen has more balls than Obama. He’s practically a eunuch.

I saw Obama give his remarks today and again his head bobs left then right as he reads his teleprompter.
If faced with a challenger or 9/11 emergency, I really wonder if he could ever speak off the cuff about anything. Are his handlers really so afraid of his unscripted remarks on any subject?

You do realize you’re citing the only poll that agrees with your supposition with many that do not, the only poll the pollsters have concern over the wording of the poll, and was conducted by a subsidiary of Rasmussen who has been notoriously biased for the right in recent years?

If I’m not mistaken, CounterFAIL, Rasmussen has been the most reliable in the past few elections.

And if the liberals didn’t believe it would hurt them, why are their media lapdogs running stories that a shutdown wouldn’t be a big deal?

Gene, have you noticed Obama has made less public appearances lately? He does not do well when real crises erupt. Last Summer’s Gulf Oil Spill is one answer where he arrested reporters for doing their jobs because it was such a PR disaster for him. The other is the Middle East meltdown. The SEIU & AFL-CIO led protests also came from the Obama White House, but this too has backfired since Obama’s 2012 message has been lost. Obama is losing his mind since he’s not a leader.

Obama is a deer in the headlights. He’s losing his mind. He’s on the verge of losing it completely in public.

    Sebastian,

I think Obama’s more Selene than Emma, a life sucking vampire who stays with archaeic policies and has a city (Chicago) enthralled to him. 🙂

Actually that gives him too much credit Let’s compare him to Pierce. All these grand plans that blow up in his face.

@ ThatGayConservative Actually you’re wrong. As Nate Silvers points out, Rasmussen has been the least reliable pollster recently, regularly skewed in favor of Republican or conservative politicians or issues. The firm that conducted the poll that Dan cites is a subsidiary of Rasmussen. There are significant mainstream outlets that refuse to use their results saying they’ve been unreliable for years.

Ah yes, again, another link to Nate silver.

Care to find another source, Counterfail? We already discussed him.

Isn’t taking Nate Silver’s opinion of Rasmussen like taking Budweiser’s opinion of Coors?

(For those too dumb to understand analogies or economics, it’s because the opinions of competitors of their rivals within the same industry should be taken with a grain of skepticism.)

So you’re not willing to actually consider the factual elements. Let’s be honest, he’s definitely not the only one saying, and proving this. So it’s easier to lob ad hominem epithets.
