In attempt to further civil discourse, Biden compares Republicans to those who blame rape victim

March 19, 2011 by B. Daniel Blatt

Sometimes following Joe Biden’s logic is like trying to find a coherent thread in the ramblings of a man who’s had one too many glasses of gin.  At a Philadelphia fundraiser in Philadelphia Friday, the 38-year Washington veteran “compared Republicans in Congress to people who excuse rapists by blaming their victims“:

“When a woman got raped, blame her because she was wearing a skirt too short, she looked the wrong way or she wasn’t home in time to make the dinner,” Biden said.

“We’ve gotten by that,” he said. “But it’s amazing how these Republicans, the right wing of this party – whose philosophy threw us into this God-awful hole we’re in, gave us the tremendous deficit we’ve inherited – that they’re  now using, now attempting to use, the very economic condition they have created to blame the victim – whether it’s organized labor or ordinary middle-class working men and women. It’s bizarre. It’s bizarre.”

If a Republican had said this, it would lead the evening news.  Oh yeah, I know .  That’s been said before.

And what cheek for Biden to blame the Republican for giving us this tremendous deficit they’ve “inherited.”  The deficit, after increasing in the first three years of the Bush Administration was declining until Biden’s Democrats recaptured Congress in 2006.  And then increased even more rapidly when Biden’s ticket won the White House.  As per Allahpundit:

And so, two years and two months into The One’s presidency, with the new Republican House desperate to get him to slash spending and reform entitlements, somehow even the unfathomably huge deficits he’s running are an intractable problem he’s inherited from the GOP.

So, if Republican are like those who attempt to blame the victim for a rape, what’s Biden doing?  Eschewing blame for himself and his party?

He’s kind of like the kid who’s caught with his hand in the cookie jar, while his pockets are stuffed with cookies and his mouth full, blaming his brother, who is now is trying to give up sweets while encouraging little Joey to go on a diet, for stealing cookies more than four years ago.

Biden’s comment makes even less sense considering that the Left fully supports excusing rapists by blaming the victim, provided that the victim is white and the rapist is black. For example, less than two weeks ago, a story published by the New York Times about the gang rape of an 11 year old girl in Texas by 18 young men and teenage boys asked the question, “if the allegations are proved, how could their young men have been drawn into such an act?” The NYT answered the question by highlighting the following:

“Residents in the neighborhood where the abandoned trailer stands — known as the Quarters — said the victim had been visiting various friends there for months. They said she dressed older than her age, wearing makeup and fashions more appropriate to a woman in her 20s. She would hang out with teenage boys at a playground, some said.”

So clearly, as far as the NYT is concerned, those 18 men and boys were “drawn into” the gang rape of the 11 year old girl because she dressed like a slut and spent time hanging out at a playground (what on Earth was an 11 year old girl doing at a playground?!) As you might have guessed by now, the reason the NYT blames the 11 year old victim for her own gang rape by 18 men is because she’s white and all 18 of the alleged rapists are black (not that the race of the victim/perpetrators was even mentioned in the story–don’t be silly, of course it wasn’t).

Also, I know this may come as a shock but from what I’ve seen, any feminist outrage over the NYT story has been limited to a few left-wing blogs while the major national women’s groups such as NOW appear to have been silent.

    whether it’s organized labor

I missed the memo where Republicans actually destroyed auto manufacturing and thus Detroit. Meanwhile, the union run Toyota’s doing just fine.

provided that the victim is white

Not to quibble with you, but she’s Hispanic. And Cleveland’s an interesting town. Did a few EMT rotations with their Fire/EMS.

Last I saw, from the Houston media (KHOU) Quannel X, Houston’s favorite race pimp was bitching because all of those arrested were black. He was holding a rally of some sort, in Houston, to raise hell about Cleveland (50ish miles). Supposedly there were pictures and videos of the attack. I’ve not seen any of it, but it seems to me that if the attackers in the pictures and videos were black, then it stands to reason that you would not be looking to arrest whites out of “fairness”.

#3 – Quannell is nothing but a poverty pimp who needs to see himself on TV to convince himself that he’s “relevant.”

In other words, he’s a male Sheila Jackson Lee.

When did Joe Biden connect with Jesse Jackson’s speech writer? Biden is finding spin is not the answer with his nonsense just like Jesse Jackson’s attempt to spin the union thuggery in Wisconsin as some sort of civil rights garbage.

Do you mean the same Joe Biden who was just in The Washington Times?

As a thank-you to its most famous customer, Amtrak is renaming the train station in Wilmington, Del., after stimulus “sheriff” Vice President Joseph R. Biden — after the project received $20 million in stimulus money and came in $5.7 million over the initial announced budget.

Is that the rape he is talking about? Amtrak. Isn’t that the government union run railroad that took rail in America from the brink of union destruction to the depths of Keystone Kops mediocrity and bankruptcy? I thought so.

Biden is a desperate idiot child who is trying to cover up for the fact that he and Token have now been thoroughly discredited on anything having to do with facts and figures.

Somehow Biden forgot that it was democrat policies from Community Development grants and their festering at HUD, Freddie Mae and Fannie Mae, and their calling racist any attempts to reform those agencies during the eight years of the Bush Administration that caused this crisis. It was not a republican congress in the last two years of the Bush Administration that tripled the deficits of the republican congress. It was not republican policies that then tripled the last two years’ deficits of the Bush Administration to 1.5 trillion dollars. It is not the republican policies that are barring the democrats from proposing spending cuts to the budget, a budget they solely increased by 25 percent in the past two years. Indeed Biden is silent as to how the democrats in the four years of Nancy Pelousy and Harry Reid’s dictatorial rule of Congress, increased the national debt by 75 percent, 8 trillion to 14 trillion dollars.

FYI, I found out what Biden’s code name with the Secret Service is:

    “Assassination Insurance.”

    Sorry, couldn’t resist. 😉
