Politics killed the left’s vaunted civility campaign

March 20, 2011 by B. Daniel Blatt

Deroy Murdock:

The Left launched its civility campaign on January 8, after Jared Lee Loughner’s alleged, fatal shooting spree in Tucson. Barely two months later, the Left killed its own initiative in Madison, when politics interfered.

(Via Instapundit.)

John Nolte provides a few examples of Wisconsin liberals’ idea of civil discourse.  Wonder if the New York Times will editorialize on this, well, to borrow an expression, “gale of anger that has produced the vast majority of these threats.”

UPDATE: “Why,” Lee Stranahan asks, “isn’t the mainstream media talking about the death threats against Republican politicians in Wisconsin?”

Did anybody really believe the moonbatshit liberals were in any way sincere? Not even the Jackass in Chief’s whining added any validity to it.

Just how civil is it when you threaten to cancel federal funds for cowboy poetry?

Just how civil is it when you try to take the baby from the breast of a state union worker?

Just how civil is it when you mass forces to drive unions from the work place and into the sanctuary of the state capitol building?

Just how civil is it when you allow Sarah Palin to even speak?

Just how civil is it when you back the racist, gun-toting TEA Party?

Just how civil is it when you mock The Auntie of All Dogma?

“Civilty” is meant to shut-up the Tea Party, Conservatives, & Republicans; the message was never meant for the Democrats. Don’t you love double standards?

However, the political union thuggery in Wisconsin has made their “civilty” propaganda meaningless thanks in large part of the unions own hack-in-chief, President Obama for nationalizing the issue.

Sebastian at #3, you’re exactly right. When liberals call for “civility” it’s an attempt to silence their opponents. Ditto with their endless cries of “Homophobe!”, “Islamophobe!”, “Bigot!”, and “Raaaaacist!”. We’ve got to disarm liberals by recognizing what they’re really doing and refusing to fall for their trap. And we’ve got to hold their feet to the fire when their hypocrisy shows like fireworks on a dark night, as it usually does.

Didn’t happen. A bunch of centrists may have decided to be more centrist-like, but that’s their business. They don’t see the the rise of the religious reich as much of a threat, and they assume the xtian’s GOPuppets will never have the number of votes necessary to move us closer to theocracy – on things like DOMA and Planned Parenthood. You know the issues that replaced jobs the economy when the GOP retook the House.

I don’t know what media Stranahan’s talking about, but I’ve read about the Wisconsin threats and even the less credible (as in probably fictional) threats against anti-gay religious bigots in Maryland. If a skank like Maggie Gallagher is shrieking about it, it’s probably bull.

Both sides have their uncontrollable crazies. The thing is, your crazies follow through and blow up buildings and gun down doctors and burn the homes of gay people.

    Dear Auntie Dogma….

Starting off with a video montage, lemme remind you of just some of the ways Liberals like to spread their message :

    http://www.eyeblast.tv/public/video.aspx?v=hdkU6U2GaG

In an article published by Green Anarchy, a radical environmental newsletter, unabomber Ted Kaczynski calls on revolutionaries to “eliminate the entire techno-industrial system” by “hitting where it hurts” and disparages the activities of most radicals as “pointless.”

“Dig It. First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, they even shoved a fork into a victim’s stomach! Wild!”
-Weather Underground leader and wife of Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, referring to the Manson murders.

Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that’s where it’s really at”
–Bill Ayers (1970), quoted in New York Times, September 11, 2001:

New York City, Judge Murtagh arson attacks, February 1970:
On February 21, 1970, gasoline-filled Molotov cocktails were thrown at the home of New York State Supreme Court Justice Murtagh, who was presiding over the trial of the so-called “Panther 21,” members of the Black Panther Party over a plot to bomb New York landmarks and department stores.

Weather Underground bombs police station, killing officer inside: On June 9, 1970, a bomb made with ten sticks of dynamite exploded in the NYC Police Headquarters. The explosion was preceded by a warning about six minutes prior to the detonation and subsequently by a WUO claim of responsibility.

Most memorable of all: Lee Harvey Oswald, a far left radical and dedicated communist who had defected to the Soviet Union in 1959, shot and killed John F Kennedy at 12:30pm CST, on Friday, November 22, 1963 in Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas.

Just a few short years ago, we were told repeatedly that we were living in a Theocracy. Now, supposedly, it’s never gonna happen.

How the hell does that work?

But the two non-threatening e-mails sent to Frances Piven should be taken seriously, right? Likewise, we should ignore that she called for violent protests.

How about Ann Althouse? Dan Riehl got an interview with the guy who made the “fictional” threat.

    http://biggovernment.com/driehl/2011/03/18/exclusive-interview-with-jim-shankman-the-man-behind-the-ann-althouse-threat/

The thing is, your crazies follow through and blow up buildings and gun down doctors and burn the homes of gay people.

The thing is, your crazies have been burning crosses, terrorizing and lynching blacks, burning down their homes and churches, fought for slavery and segregation, kicked the shit out of a black man handing out Don’t Tread On Me flags, bit the finger off one guy, slapped and shoved Seasoned Citizens around, supports Palestinian terrorists, ran Black Panthers, the New Black Panthers, Worker’s World Party, Weather Underground, UAW, SEIU, etc.

AND is the home of the Rev. Phelps and his little Westboro Baptist Church which, according to Tim, oppresses gays.

In other words, Auntie Dogshit, your crazies are the worst pieces of human debris, excrement and oxygen thieves bar non. Throw in the fact that a disgraceful POS like you would circle the wagons around garbage like that is just as bad.
