Her ratings tanking, Katie Couric abandons ship

March 25, 2011 by B. Daniel Blatt

Looks like Dan Rather’s successor is, like him, leaving a job she never should have taken:

The CBS Evening News anchor is very likely to leave in June, and Scott Pelley is a top contender to replace her—but CBS is looking both within and outside the network, Howard Kurtz reports. Plus, behind the CBS News shakeup.

The search is on for Katie Couric’s successor.

The new CBS News chairman, Jeff Fager, is looking at candidates both within and outside the network, insiders say.

I hear they have an opening on the View.  Given her politics, she’d fit right in.

“leaving” HA! She got CANNED. FIRED. KICKED to the CURB, SACKED cus she SUCKS! :^)

And Pelley (or any other lib) will do just as poorly in her place, because the market is already over-saturated with progressive propaganda.

If CBS were smart instead of determined to cover for the Democrook party, they would hire Brit Hume, allow him to reorganize the news division, and do for network news what FOX has done on cable — which is skyrocket to the lead, getting higher ratings than the other networks combined.

if they were smart, CBS would get Glenn Beck. Of course, they’d never think of that.

Replace her with Tina Fey. CBS’s credibility would jump 90% overnight, and they’d still have the Palin-bashing cache that wins journalism awards.

Maybe Katie Couric whould run for POTUS? Katie is already a better teleprompter reader than Obama & she wears better dresses than he.

Her ratings collapse happened almost immediately she was hired for the job at CBS; it did not help her that her move to the CBS anchor chair created bad blood from the start.

Seriously, Katie should go on a cruise in the Bermuda Triangle; I hope she’s never seen again.

AE is correct. CBS fired Katie Couric since they did not renew her contract; she saw this coming. I have heard that CNN is interested in her since they are trying to get their own version of Rachel Maddow for their network, but CNN already has Anderson Cooper. Couric may also get a daytime talk show to try to be the next Oprah Winfrey, but Couric is no Oprah.

Katie Couric also has a book coming out in April:

Her face is going to be plastered in all the MSM garbage dumps! She might also use the book as a springboard for her move away from CBS.

I thought she was okay. However, I don’t feel sorry for her. She made herself a nice little nest egg. And getting fired, contract not renewed, whatever you want to call it, it’s all part of the millions of dollars per year she signed up for.

Draybee–good suggestion. She’d still be her same left-wing self, but I’m sure her version of Larry King would attract marginally more viewers than Piers Morgan, and these days, CNN would probably be happy to do whatever it could to attract even just a handful more viewers than it has now.

It has long been a source of embarrassment to me that she earned her undergraduate degree at the same institution where I did my graduate work, but oh well…

I don’t feel sorry for Katie Couric at all; she’s an over-payed ham at best masquerading as a “journalist.” I think her colon has more to say than Katie Couric herself. I would like Katie’s colon to interview Katie herself. Now, I would watch Couric for that interview!

Does anyone even watch CBS anymore? In our market, they even trail the cable news at the 630pm slot…though the CBS local affiliate is hopeless ratings-wise. While possibility politically-incorrect, they have the reputation as the “urban Black’s” station….followed by the “perky one”. **shudder**

Katie achieved glitterati status. She can hobnob with the liberal elite and do lunch in the exclusive places and eventually be a Senator from New York by right.

Maybe Katie Couric should consider getting a sex change; therefore, she can have her own show on the Oprah Winfrey Network! She’s halfway there with the squirrelly haircut.
