GOProud praises Ryan’s “Do-Something”* Plan

In praising the comprehensive budget plan that House Budget Committee chairman Paul Ryan introduced today, Jimmy LaSalvia, Executive Director of GOProud reminds us of a criticism Democrats have been leveling against Republicans for the past two years:

The left constantly berated Republicans in the last Congress for supposedly failing to offer alternatives, labeling the GOP as the ‘party of no’. Today, the liberal smear machine is in full force, attacking Rep. Ryan and House Republicans for having the political courage to put forward a comprehensive budget plan. Democrats in Congress are offering no such plan, and the President offers no such plan either; it seems just a few months after attacking Republicans for supposedly failing to offer solutions that it is indeed the Democratic Party that is totally devoid of any plan to solve our budget crisis.

It’s almost as if Democrats (and their allies) were accusing Republicans of lacking a plan in order to “bait” them to present one so they could attack as “extreme.”

Nice to see a gay group reminding us a smaller government which spends less is good for gay people.

UPDATE:  Log Cagin has now followed suit, with R. Clarke Cooper, the organization’s Executive Director, calling the Ryan plan “a serious budget in response to the serious challenges facing our nation today“.

*About the deficit.

  1. Obama spending more than all other presidents put together is NOT extreme. However, trying to cut a relatively small portion of that spending IS?

  3. The left is already out in full force:

“The GOP is a total train wreck and if they choose to continue in this way, they will alienate every senior citizen currently on the Medicare/Medicaid rolls as well as nearly everyone who is old enough to be aware of the program intended for their future health-security. Private insurance indeed. How many will be happy with the industry’s new policy of “the first sixty-four years of life being considered a pre-existing condition”? FAIL.

The Democratic Party had well better grab this and run, the campaign slogans just write themselves for Obama’s reelection. Thanks for the gifts, GOP, they will be very useful!

The GOP and Tax Cuts. This is well established knowledge for anyone even partially literate in the failed “trickle down” economic policies of Reagan-era thinking. That the Democratic Party has been complicit in this folly is reprehensible, but the GOP just won’t give it up and tell the truth. “Tax Cuts” is a great slogan though, and to those completely ignorant of the obvious consequences, as appealing as chocolate. FAIL.

“Overhauling federal health programs” means dismantling the recent health care finance reform law (surprised it’s not referred to with the ignorant and juvenile “Obamacare” the GOP is so fond of); this is quite likely entirely written by insurance lobbyists. FAIL.”

How do you respond to this crap?

  4. The Democrat Alternative: 88% tax increase. Note: In Illinois, the Democrat Governor and Legislature passed a 66% tax increase in order to avoid spending cuts.

  8. The Left makes the predictable attack while offering nothing themselves. I like the quote Obama said during the 2008: If they bring a stick, we bring s gun to fight. In this case, the Democrats & President Oama have brought a spoon to a gunfight instead of said gun. How many bullets does a spoon possess? The Democrats look ridiculous, childish, & leaderless. But I expect this from President Obama; the Dems are following Obama’s lead which is called dithering. The dithering Democrats bring a spoon.

  10. 5.Has anyone noticed that the Ryan plan for Medicare is basically Obamacare for seniors? Naw, I didn’t think you had.

    Actually, that’s because it isn’t.

Obamacare takes money that seniors had set aside and cuts their benefits so that gays like PeeJ who have bareback sex and spread disease get free health care.

The Republican plan acknowledges that seniors have paid into the plan with every paycheck they’ve earned — a fact which PeeJ and his fellow liberal gays and lesbians wouldn’t recognize, because they don’t work or pay taxes — and gives them vouchers as a means of providing them the flexibility to shop for the benefits they wish to purchase.

Moreover, unlike Obamacare, which mandates specific benefit plans because the Obama Party base like PeeJ is too stupid to determine their own health needs and must have Obama do their thinking for them, the voucher program allows seniors to choose which plans and amounts they wish to pay, rather than being forced into programs that make no sense for them.

In short, PeeJ, you’re just demonstrating that you are a very stupid troll. But that’s typical; gays and lesbians like you are invariably somewhat intellectually lacking and incapable of functioning in a modern or civilized society.

  12. So Ryan has offered a substantive plan… so Demagogue Party starts trotting out the tried and true “starve the poor, the old, the sick…” trope; no serious effort to address the problem (I guess the Dems have Miss Dogma giving them their tired marching orders).

This is a decision point for the American people: either reign in spending OR make it clear that We the People don’t give a damn about the future of this country and it’s citizens (current and future).

There simply isn’t enough money and wealth in this country to sustain current spending levels. No tax increase is enough is big enough.

To borrow from an old Reagan speech: now is the time for choosing… which is it, America?

  13. Thanks for reminding about civilized society. Did I mention that you have been reported for making threats? By several people. I don’t know if you’re just a Cheetoh stained whacko raging away in the safety of your mama’s basement or an actual danger to anyone but I suppose the FBI will be the judge of that.

I have also subpoenaed your ISP. You will hear from a lawyer before too long about the libel and defamation of character suit.

Generally it’s not considered a good idea to acknowledge that you and others are making unverified reports of “threats” to the FBI, especially with the intent to distress and harass the subject of the reports. It falls in the same category of filing a false police report.

Would you also confirm that it’s your fellow commenters from Sadly, No! that are reporting these alleged “threats”?

I have also subpoenaed your ISP. You will hear from a lawyer before too long about the libel and defamation of character suit.

Which should be interesting, given the record of your statements made on this blog and others, all easily available from Googling your identity “PeeJ” and your other identity “Pupienus Maximus”.

Generally it’s not considered a wise idea to file a lawsuit for libel and defamation of character against someone when there is existing evidence of your own animosity and willingness to libel them in place already — such as we see here.

Would you also confirm whether or not Evan Hurst, spokesperson and Director of Social Media for the nonprofit organization Truth Wins Out, who is often quoted on Sadly, No! and endorses its description of the proprietors of this website, is involved with your actions?

  20. Evan Hurst? Never heard of him. I’ve never tried to hide my identity, it’s all out there in the open – my name, my occupation, where I live – anyone can find that out. But that’s not the reason I take threats of violence seriously. Nor am i worried about my own safety. Hell, you wouldn’t come after me, too much trouble for too little reward.

I worry when someone who is clearly deranged, completely irrational and obviously obsessive threatens violence. Remember that “kill the liberals” guy who went on a shooting spree? Yeah, lots of missed warning signs there. Like i said, I’m not worried about me and that’s not why I alerted the FBI – it’s because you exhibit the warning signs of someone on the verge of violence. I told them about the psycho who probably ought to get looked at because I fear for other’s safety.

As for the libel, all that’s really needed is these very pages. Again due to my non-anonymity, your numerous, factually incorrect statements are actionable. Shit, I don’t expect anything to come of it except to remind you that while you are free to say anything you want you have to take responsibility for doing so.

  24. Evan Hurst? Never heard of him.

Quite interesting, given all the blog posts on Sadly, No! on which you demonstrate, via the commentary you are making, knowledge of his directly-quoted statements.

Would you please state that, for the record, despite your comments on these referenced posts and the very obvious linking of them to Evan Hurst, spokesperson and Director of Social Media for the organization Truth Wins Out, that you affirm that you have in fact never heard of Evan Hurst, and were unaware of anything written by him, anything referenced to him, or any statements made by him prior to today?

Again due to my non-anonymity, your numerous, factually incorrect statements are actionable.

Then, “PeeJ”, aka “Pupienus Maximus”, since you state that your identity is publicly known, would you please acknowledge and confirm that you, as publicly identified, are the individual responsible for the content of this post and the commentary therein ascribed to both of your anonymous posting identities, and that you, as publicly identified, agree with and endorse all viewpoints therein expressed concerning B.
