Tried to watch it, but found it, well, kind of dull. His delivery seemed amazingly staccato, as if his heart weren’t in the address.
And did I hear him using Iraq as an example of what an Arab society could become if it did the right thing? Wonder if he cited his predecessor for helping Iraq make the progress that it has.
Did Obama Really say this with a straight face?
Really, Mr. GE Payback? Really, Mr. Green Energy subsidies? Really Mr. Union Kickbacks? Really, Mr. Goldman-Sachs Bailout? Really, Mr. Oil Drilling moratoriums? Really, Mr. ObamaCare waivers? Really, Mr. Sue-Boeing-to-Stop-Them-From-Operating-a-factory-in-South Carolina? Really, Mr. Crippling Environmental, Energy, and Financial Regulations? You presume to lecture Egypt on corruption and cronyism?
Early in the speech Mr Obama called the mullahs in Tehran hypocrites, saying he “still hears the chants echoing from the Iranian people” — But who’s being the pretender? If you remember correctly it was Obama who did nothing in 2009 to help the Iranian people.
But the real gist of the president’s speech came at the end… Where we learned the Arab Spring is not exactly what you would call a flowering of democracy… but has turned into an offensive against Israel, now aided and abetted by the president of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama.
.
Barack Obama, one must remember, believes himself to be the Black Messiah, The One, and so forth.
It is only corrupt when money goes to those other than the Black Messiah. Since all Barack Obama does is correct in the eyes of himself and of his syncophants in the Obama Party, there is nothing hypocritical with this speech.
President Obama has no heart unless he’s talking about himself.
Interesting comment I read on NRO.
The President said ‘Palistine’ has a right to ‘contigious borders’. He didn’t say the same for Israel, and only one state can have contigious borders.
How can anyone ignore his totally ignorant comment that Israel withdraw to pre-1967 borders which are indefensible? It seems Obama always blindsides our allies and he did it again before Netanyahu comes to America. “Israel’s prime minister on Thursday gave a cool reception to President Barack Obama’s Mideast policy speech, warning a withdrawal from the West Bank wold leave Israel vulnerable to attack and setting up what could be a tense meeting at the White House.”
Nice job Mr. President….not!
In 2008, candidate Obama assured us that he would not impose any pre-conditions on a peace negotiation between Israel and the Palestinians. But President Obama has shown he has no intention of impartiality.
Obama has now told Israel to pull back to the 1967 borders without any guarantee of Hamas relinquishing power in te Palestinian territories… No my liberal friend, even someone like yourself has to see returning to the 1967 borders as Obama has laid out, means the end of Israel.
.
At the end of the day, Obama’s speeches mean nothing. Speeches are just a way for him to look busy and important between trips to the golf course and Wednesday night poetry slams.
Krauthammer pointed out that the agreement with the US when they pulled out of Gaza was that we’d not demand a return to the 1967 borders.
The terrorists would raize every religious site in Jerusalem if they got a hold of it.
I think it’s time for new approach to Middle East; How about we stop rewarding the Palestinians for engaging in terrorism?

Leftists Support Gay-Bashing Palestinians in Effort to Eradicate Gay-Friendly Israel

I can only conclude, then, that the GLBTWXYZ’s hatred of Republicans has NOTHING to do with alleged homophobia or a desire to remove “gay rights”. I think from now on, whenever some ass hat liberal whines about Republicans, I will point out that they support gay bashers in Palestine (after calling “bullshit!” of course).
How can one have peace when one side wants to destroy Israel? The only way peace will be made is to have a victor; Israel must destroy its enemies before they destroy Israel. It’s that simple.
TGC, the gay leftists love of the middle east stems from a simple misunderstanding based on bad grammar. They keep hearing that all gays in the middle east are ‘hung’, so they believe that it is a paradise of over-endowed, exotic men. Of course if they bothered to do a little research they would find out that gay men in the middle east are actually ‘hanged’.
If the US is so interested in supporting democracy in the Mideast, then why does Obama want to aid in the potential destruction of the only functioning democracy in the Mideast (Israel)? Never mind….I already know the answer.
Check out this picture of two young men who would lead Israel and the USA. The Israeli (Netanyahu) a brave, noble, disciplined soldier. The American (Obama) a smug effeminate punk. I envy countries led by actual leaders.
Kehpri, I think you may be onto something.
