“Forever Lazy” Pajamas Perfect Attire for Obama Era?

November 14, 2011 by B. Daniel Blatt

Earlier this afternoon, Dr. Helen Smith (AKA the Instawife) asked if “anyone out there” had

. . . seen this ridiculous commercial for “Forever Lazy” that advertises adult fleece pajamas made to keep you warm while you loaf in the house or even outside? I saw it this afternoon and really wondered about the future of Americans. Yeah, I know we already have the Snuggie but this just goes one step further and it is the ad and the way that people are portrayed that brings home the message that resting on your laurels and living the “lazy” way is the best method to dealing with the economy as it is today: by just throwing on your fleece PJs and tuning out the world.

Via her husband.  Well, you know, President Obama did say we were getting a little lazy.

Maybe the advertiser was marketing to the nation as portrayed by the president?

I think I saw another ad for the same thing. It’s only $19.95 to get the PJs, but they charge you $40 after 30 days. I loved those footie pajamas when I was a kid, but I think even on the coldest night in central Florida, I’d be burning up in those.

It’s funny that they come with an ass flap though. Some poor sap is gonna be in a hurry and forget that their drawers don’t come with a flap in the back.

As to the SCOAMF’s comments: That tends to happen when you pay people to do nothing. What the hell did he expect?

Are you kidding? I have seen a rise in people wearing PJs as everyday wear. When I worked in the hotel industry, people would come in dressed in pjs to check in. Now I work for an airline and every day I see people in pjs checking in to first and business class.

I may not be so old, but I can remember when people actually got dressed nicely to do things like going on a flight or going to a hotel.

More and more people just don’t care anymore. Its really quite sad.

I hope I don’t catch you folks in “pajama jeans”.

Seriously, I will be watching 🙂
