Glenn linked this yesterday; it does show the former Speaker, rhetorically at least, at the top of his game. He makes his point clearly, but does it hold water?
I agree with Mr. Gingrich. Given the premise that Iran is a serious and imminent threat to national security and that Obama is insufficiently prepared to deal with Iran, it follows that Obama is a serious and imminent threat to national security. Of course, those premises aren’t a given, but I more or less agree with them (where I might disagree is that Iran is an imminent threat; based on my knowledge, I would say Iran is a threat, but it is not clear that it is a major threat right now. But it will be, and possibly within the next four years. Whatever the case, it is my opinion that it is better to nip the threat in the bud, before it becomes more threatening, which I guess renders the imminence of the threat irrelevant in this context).

I agree with Newt. When he’s good, he’s really good.
I don’t know whether or not Iran is an imminent threat but since we don’t know, it’s safer to assume that it is.
A strong and fearsome posture from the West over the years would have avoided the current state of affairs and, possibly, saved a lot of misery both here and in the M.E.

Yesterday, a man was arrested for submitting a threatening post directed at our NYC police chief on line. If our society is going to take seriously on line threats against a single public official shouldn’t we also take seriously the threats from Iranian officials against our entire country using weapons of mass destruction?
I agree with Newt 100%. Islam and Iran are both big threats, and the liberals and liberal media defend them to the death. There’s a blogging idea for you: Islam is very anti-women, and especially against what the US believes about women’s rights and roles. They are also very anti-gay. Those 2 things are big issues for the liberals, so why on earth do they defend and cheer on Islam so much? The most anti-gay and anti-women religion ever. Off topic a bit, but I’d like to you guys’ thoughts on that some time 🙂
