In his latest survey of “right-of-center bloggers,” John Hawkins of Right Wing News asked a variety of questions concerning “which candidate they’d support if the 2012 Republican primaries were today“. The answers surprised him. In his e-mail introducing the results, he wrote:
For one thing, Mitt Romney FINALLY appears to have become the consensus nominee in the blogosphere. He beats all the other candidates 1-on-1. That being said, there is someone who beats Mitt 1-on-1 and that’s another significant story in and of itself.
Among these bloggers, Romney beats Santorum by a nearly 2-to-1 margin, yet falls short (47.1% to 52.9%) when we were asked if we preferred the former Massachusetts governor to “An as of yet unknown candidate selected at a brokered convention”.
Seems like even as we’re resigning ourselves to Massachusetts meatloaf, we still would prefer a nice juicy steak.
